I cant wait for the Lebatard parade
If Marlins are worth $1.3 bil how much are Yankees worth TIA
Can't wait to see those marlins wearing an Antifa hat.
Have I mentioned lately how Derek Jeter is the GOAT short stop and that Jeb! is one hell of a model American?
i hope they flash "please clap" on the scoreboard during big moments
Owning a baseball team is probably a lot more fun than being president. Good for Jeb.
what were the Marlins worth before Loria had the taxpayers fund his new stadium?
Really just $12m. Bud Selig took care of the rest.
On the one hand I want them to fail at all things but on the other how great would it be for Jeet to lead the Marlins to dominance over the Yanks. So many hats wasted.
TMB needs to buy a baseball team instead of an island, apparently. Great ROI
Then we could vote on personnel moves using polls
I'm in for $1.25
so how long before dblplay1212 is on this bandwagon?
I've got on their bandwagon when they hired Mattingly.
lechnerd with his multitude of alts would be the main decision maker
Can't beat them, buy them
please god sell guacamole bowls in the pro shop
is this the first time a former player has had a significant stake in a team?
is his stake really significant?
i was just assuming that it was because he made a ton of money in his career and i'm guessing he's been thinking about owning a team for a long time. also in this world of assumptions, new york hedge fund types would be running each other over to say that they managed derek jeter's money so he might have a lot more than he made from just playing.
but to answer your question - Mario Lemieux, Wayne Gretzky, Magic Johnson and Nolan Ryan all own stakes in teams that I know of.
I'm not sure how much exactly they own and how that compares to Jeter's stake in the Marlins though.
Mike Jordan -- Charlotte Hornets
The failing Marlins sold to a low energy loser and overrated former player. Sad!
guys i was totally talking about mlb only
Guess we know the first step to bashing the fash
Infiltrate their baseball teams.
Nolan Ryan breh
Jeb! really wants to follow in his brother's footsteps
first trying to become president
and now owning a stake in a baseball team
Nolan is a minor league owner only imo
Edit should have finished reading thread
he used to be part-owner of the Rangers.
it was a joke about how the Rangers are in the "minor leagues"
Houston people typically dont have good senses of humor
i still don't get this joke
its not a very good one
thank you for the reminder
they Marlins! now
Minor league team
You seem very bitter from way back there in the back of the al west
