Just watched the midseason finale or whatever it was. Spoiler what a stupid show. All season leading to this bribe investigation that billionaire Floyd gave his life to expose....and it's over because of a 3 sentence statement? And then they just kill her out of nowhere? And was that Audrey from 24 in next season's preview? At least they have a new villian with the English Russian guy.....who Hannah was told to get a team together and she goes alone and then they don't recover his body
i don't know why im watching either. show died as soon as it shifted from a show about a president thrown into the no-win situation of rebuilding a country to a cheap knock off of The West Wing.
In retrospect, there's no other way this really could have gone. Probably would have worked better as a movie.
It still bothers me that Hannah's character is literally everywhere. Like her job is to be the lead on the conspiracy or whatever. And then she's on probation. Why is she in Afghanistan and Cuba? Are there no other FBI agents?
show needs to decide if it wants to be 24, white house edition or a knock off of the west wing. It keeps trying to be both and gets more and more mediocre.
That issue will eventually be it's demise'. It's a very poor man's West Wing while splashing in a dash of 24, that makes every convoluted. I don't think they will ever figure it out.
And every ally is working against him. First moss. Now Audrey Raines. They need to make up their mind
For a guy who seems to save the world every episode he apparently has very low approval ratings after getting a nation back on it's feet after a capitol bombing. They hire a quirky strategist who's job is to be the guy who figures it all out like no one else....and the president has yet to agree with him on anything. Every episode is "huh, henproved me wrong again!" Everyone close to Hannah dies. She's also apparently the only special agent in the USA left. Who has to solve a national emergency hacker case by herself and also go to the middle East to broker a deal that only she can unfold by finding a piece of paper in the first drawer she looks in. A hacker is publicly shaming the white House and their resources to solve it are....one guy in the basement. Bringing in Aubrey as a potential romantic interest given their 24 past is just weird. Show is stupid but wife kinda likes it so keep watching.
I watched the first episode because I assumed it was going to be a different shade of 24. I could tell after the first 20 minutes that it wasn’t going to be. I should have bailed. I get irrationally attached to shows once I start watching them though. I’ll probably stick this one out. It is objectively bad but it’s fast paced enough to keep me from getting bored. Although if Michael J Fox was going to be a regular character I would stop watching. He’s hard to watch.
Watching last nights episode. Kirkman is meeting with his friend asking about Aubrey and then it pans to a shot of some toy car the friend gave him. Welp. Obviously the friend is the hacker and he’s got a listening device in the car. this show is so heavy handed. Gonna look real dumb if I’m wrong.
Yes. I has it recorded and stopped watching. Talked to a friend of mine and said I am done and he said they cleared it up so I watched the rest...still stupid to believe the computer nerd would go along with it if he didn't know.
also Michael J Fox is so cringeworthy on TV now just fucking give it up already no one wants to see your shakiness on TV
I think this would have been a much better show if they didn’t go out of their way to make the president a huge pussy.
Yep. After you get over the initial shock of him being the only one not killed then you’re just left with a show about a president.
I mean they had enough content for a full season of rebuilding a broken country. But that premise is a complete afterthought at this point. You are right. It's a show about a president that doesn't have good enough writing to even come close to the show it is trying to recreate.
Somehow this independent who helped rebuild a country after a capitol bombing and who somehow pulls off major wins every single week while being a man who tragically lost his wife still has staff telling him his approval ratings are low and almost was removed from office. Oh and Elon Musk was just arrested for hacking because.....once again....Hannah Wells discovered something in about 4 seconds...because you know... The president could not have raided his house with an army once he discovered that bugging device. Season 1 was fun. They could have made the show interesting longer if they didn't kill Lloyd so easily in season 2 for no reason whatsoever.
Last episode is going to end with kiefer walking off into the sunset as moss and kiefer’s vp battle it out.
Pretty hilaruous they are setting it up so that hannah wells literally doing everything is now a downfall. Fitting sjnce its part of the downfall of the show. Also...the president is accused of being a terible leader, unfit, publicly mentally weak, the cabinet tried to remove him....yet strongly courted by both parties as their canidate who are still just as divided as real life. But set in a world where the entire government was blown up just 20 months ago
The show died the second they tried to shift focus and be a west wing sequel in response to trump. Then they realized it was a mistake and tried to go back and it was way too late
No but they could have easily edited out Hannah getting the USB drive and everything after he announced reelection campaign. Could have easily left it at that. Also the notion that Emily...cheif of staff for the damn HUD secretary...is some long con spy is just so dumb. Im glad it ended and I just say the envelope was full of cookies.
4 episodes in. The list of all the social issues that have been dealt with so far through 4 episodes Spoiler Transgendered sister in law being accepted corporate greed in pharmaceutical prices causing death genetically modified disease that is only targeting minorities assisted suicide HIV+ gay man who wants to prove he can safely have random sex being the token latino over sentencing of minorities I'm sure I'm forgetting a few more because there have been so many. Show feels like the Gillette commercial that ruffled a bunch of jimmies on steroids.
Definitely. But it feels like overdrive even compared to previous seasons. They are packing like 5-6 different ones in each episode.
Finished season 3. Spoiler It’s better then season 2 but still pretty meh. Thank god they killed off the FBI agent. There wasn’t a need for her since the show shifted from being about surviving the total destruction of the government to being a modern day west wing. Now at least there doesn’t need to be a global crisis every season to give her purpose. One other comment, it’s comical that Kirkman is a centrist candidate. There is nothing centering about his policies or the show. The show is a progressive cheerleader. Just be what you are and don’t apologize for it. Everytime there is a "We are going to come at them from the middle" speech that leads into a new expensive government program to solve a problem, I chuckle. I honestly can't think of a single "centerist" idea the show has proposed.
Two episodes in and I'd say season 3 is feeling better than season 2. But maybe that's becuase they are really enjoying their freedom to use profanity constantly.
