They "fixed" fast farming of tokens by putting a lost sector and public event cooldown of 10 minutes before you can get rewards again from any of the events or sectors. So basically you can only get two tokens once every 10 minutes or so. Just really slows down progress to even more of a grind. And apparently new weapons aren't dropping much at all compared to old ones.
I thought I was getting penalized yesterday for trying to do that little edz farm. Good grief at this game.
they're doing everything in their power to. but hey, they're finally bringing in ranked pvp! i wish they'd just make trials like D1, that would bring a lot of people back in.
i don't think they understand what destiny is still. it's a loot driven game. you play to get loot. if they make it harder to get loot or take longer, people won't play it. i'd rather play 1 hour and get a few pieces of gear that i find awesome than play for 5 hours for the same stuff. it diminishes my excitement for finding it. diablo 3 got it within a year, destiny started to get it within a year, and for some reason destiny 2 is still figuring it out after they already kinda did in the first game. point i'm making is, if there's an exploit that lets people get loot quicker, who cares? at least their playing vs. not playing. and because of limiting my ability to get tokens at a reasonable rate i will not play.
I mean there has to be a way to fix these exploits that don't involve locking players out of rewards for 10 minutes. I was cool with the idea when I thought I was penalized for trying the exploits. I can't understand why they keep fucking up so much.
fired it up just now to check out xur. thought "eh i'll just play a bit, get some quick flashpoint rewards or something." flashpoint: titan... sign off.
I still do flashpoint and heroic strikes each week and I get clan xp out of those then I get that as well. On my Titan at least. Can't find the will to do Osiris with the others.
the titan zone is just so barren with anything going on. so tiny. i'm not gonna wait around twiddling my thumbs for an hour for just a few public events to take place. on most of the others there's at least one event going on at a time. that place you just sit and wait majority of the time. sucks.
I think they've changed it to where patrols count also. Being that Mercury only has one PE they p much had to
well aren't you just mr. positivity. you're probably right there. titan still sucks though. what's annoying is they have huge portions of the map that aren't even included with public events... utilize em.
The game is just in such a bad place right now. I know they can’t just flip a switch and make everything like year 3 D1, but with these baby steps that they are taking, it could be next year before this game is fun again. I really, really hope they get the ship righted, because some of my favorite gaming moments ever happened while playing this franchise. And I miss you guys
division actually has players going back to it after a ton of updates and people hating destiny now. if division can do it, anyone can. i'm pretty confident this'll get fixed eventually... at this point i'm just waiting for that to happen. then i'll be back.
I can't agree with you more. The biggest issue with Destiny is how close it came to being my perfect game before it totally reversed course. I feel like that is the general consensus of the community and that it's also gonna be a tough climb to get back. I stay, because I love what it could be. It's everything I love from Borderlands and Halo wrapped into a package that FEELS better than anything. You seriously can not play this game and not recognize how wonderful it FEELS. Yet it falls so short. And that is such sadness for me. I just want it to be half of what I desire
Patrols don’t count towards flashpoint on Mercury but the yellow bar cabal and vex do, they are only like 3% though.
I still usually run both raids each week because they are pretty quick but it has gotten fairly difficult to lfg a group lately. D1 at its lowest point and slowest time of day would have at least a couple thousand people on lfg.net, on reset night this week it had something like 300 when I was trying to get a raid together. Stating the obvious but people are leaving this game in droves.
it's sad and it sucks, but I think it has to happen for them to take it seriously and get off their asses and change instead of stubbornly saying the game is the way they want it to be no matter what the complaints from the community.
I just don't understand why man.. it kills me. We were so happy after TTK. It was so close to what we all wanted. I just can't understand why they took everything back.
I think we just got lucky with TTK. The signs were always there that they weren't listening to anyone and were going to stick to their version of the way the game should be and only their version with the most obvious being their continued nerfing of weapons in PVE just to stubbornly match up with PVP despite literally the entire world telling them that was a dumb idea. They didn't know what worked about TTK because they weren't really in touch with the community, at least the people at the decision making level.
I get that they don't pay attention, what I don't understand is why... we complained and complained but after TTK we praised and praised. It makes no sense and is flat out insulting that they ignored us. Not only ignored us but basically spit in our faces. It's such a disappointment
jokes on them. about 5% of the base is still interested in Destiny, outside of TWAB updates (which updates are always rolled out too late) and DLC. their free marketing from the twitch community is gone, and probably wont come back.
that's the other thing that's happened recently that is probably going to motivate them to get things fixed quickly. A bunch of the big Destiny streamers are jumping ship.
Played some Trials this weekend. Felt like I've never played an FPS in my life, got steamrolled 85% of the time.
Yeah I figured no one was still doing them. They need to make them matchmaking or something. That’s literally the only reason I even want to start playing it again is just to do the raids.
i think destiny is now uncool enough for me to start playing again. so if anyone wants to raid in the evenings or on weekends i have a group of 3 who will be playing. no, i don't know why i am the way that i am.
matchmaking in crucible is so brutal (at least competitive)... takes like 10 minutes just to get 8 people in the world to join up for a game.
Since I began HZD, I don't think I've touched Destiny. May pick it back up just for the 2v2 battles, but that's it. I haven't played in about 3 weeks.
i did the crimson days milestone yesterday. is it over after that? 5 matches and then you get the ghost shell, nothing else to do but grind out bright engrams that are now crimson engrams which give you shaders and cosmetic stuff?
Started to get back into it a bit for getting the weapons from the forge and such. Can't do a heroic challenge alone though. Boyd???
I’ve cleared the prestige raid several times now and I swear those heroic challenges solo are some of the hardest content in the game, at least in terms of how fast shit kills you and how hard it is to kill.
I've done it on pc, albeit outside the time limit but still got the milestone. But this past week I tried on ps4 with prism going and I swear it made no difference what element I was hitting them with, I'd just get worked. Dregs were destroying me...
I'm going to play Destiny 2 again this week...but only to try to solo nightfalls since they've removed the timers. I used to love soloing them in 1, so it's an excuse to at least play the game again.
