He’s got a point but he’s not gonna fix it either. I can’t imagine playing Destiny with 0 intent of diving into the end game.
I mean, when I do play destiny, I do bounties and strikes and nightfalls and dungeons to get what I need to get. I just haven’t played in a while because not many people here play on pc with any consistency
Got to the boss on Sotp and GoS last night. So I know how to do those raids now just took so long to get there everyone bounced after so many boss tries. Does it save it as a boss checkpoint for me or only party leader?

Both groups were great. I love the fire teams on the app. May hit it up for a dungeon as I haven’t done them either. I sent you invites when we’d have someone drop or we can team up and start a thread and get 1-4 more depending and kick and choose as we please. I started one for leviathan and had an annoying wanna be twitch kid and just booted him

Awww thanks bud. I am kinda looking forward to the new direction of destiny, and hope that it can be enjoyable for a long time to come. We can get the boys back together and rust can be wrangled into it as well
I like everything they are doing but sunsetting. Seeing how they have handled it so far is quite worrying. If it's going to be like this going forward it might be the final straw for me.
True, but I haven’t played destiny in months and I don’t know all that much about it. The idea of sunsetting armor doesn’t make any sense to me, weapons...I don’t want to grind for a perfect roll, for it to be unusable at a high level the following season. Seems silly, but idk the details
Armor sunsetting is really obnoxious. Since they already have seasonal slots there is already a ticking clock on those in a way. This just makes it worse. The weapons are really bad. You have a year from when they are released which isn't too bad if you are able to get a good roll fairly quickly. But they have already dropped a ton of reissued weapons this season in the Umbral Engrams. Most of which I already had the roll I wanted on. But I can't keep using that one. I have to go get a new one. Which I don't think is right. If they are going to retire my weapons only to bring them right back then I'm out.
It’s definitely obnoxious to not get to use a weapon with a god roll that they’re just going to release a different version with not so great rolls on. is weapon tuning in other games so difficult? Because destiny seems to have an issue with it
sunsetting makes sense to me. other mmo's have armor and weapons become irrelevant far more often than destiny does. futhermore, cycling out weapons with god rolls that include perks they dont want dominating the game is fine. however, i would definitely prefer more reliable ways to get those god rolls if i have to do it once per year. much like self rez, everything legitimately needing kill clip/rampage/multikill clip/swashbuckler to be viable likely makes the game impossible to balance. getting those perks as out of the game as possible will allow a rebalance allowing primaries to do more damage to small red bars without doing so much damage they can destroy yellow bars too. so ultimately, i think sunsetting is healthy but theres probably a better way to be doing it.
I'm fine with that too. But what they are doing is exactly what I feared they would do. The guns in the Umbral Engrams haven't even been sunset yet and they have already reissued them. Nothing about them is different. Same exact perk pools and the everything. I'm not okay with being asked to farm the same exact weapon I already spent ages farming. Especially with destiny's awful rng.
theres many ways to fix the problems with sunsetting without getting rid of it entirely. i dont love having to regrind breachlight either but also i'd rather have the option to do it than not so i can get a new one and keep using it instead. new perk pools would help. all of the ib weapons this season will have that so i'm curious why the others dont. could be they only brought back the ones that didnt need changes. a consumable allowing you to reroll one slot would also help. so would d1 style vendor inventories with refreshes (which i do think we will be getting in the fall)
The issue with sunsetting is the fact they haven't come out with guns in 2 years to replace the recluse or mountaintop. They HAVE to come up with better replacements. There's no reason people (including myself) should be using the same 2 guns for this many seasons in a row.
except thats the opposite of what theyre doing. getting rid of things like recluse allow for a rebalance of primary damage. i, for one, do not want to HAVE to have rampage, etc on a gun for it to be viable. i would much prefer damage increase perks to be out of the game entirely. then "god rolls" matter much less and all perks can be fun performance perks rather than pure damage.
I hope that is where this is leading. I'm concerned it won't though. But they are definitely putting damage perks on a lot less weapons lately. Could also be that they are going to reserve those for raid weapons and what not to make them feel more special.

I’m enjoying running demolitionist instead of rampage/kill clip, but I love grenades and almost always having one as a primary warlock is pretty helpful these days with the void and solar subclasses. I’m all for other perks if we can get back to one shotting the lowest level red bars with hand cannons and scouts. Balance the damage, Bungie. The new perks they did introduce this season are interesting, and we still got something completely broken and fun in the dark drinker clone. Ran the new dungeon last night. It’s pretty fun.
