Thinking about this hurts my feelings. We wasted 12 years of Stafford's career, but us doing him the favor of sending him to LAR looks worse and worse at this point and I don't ever want to hear a bad word from him or his wife about Detroit going forward. It would be one thing if we just took the picks. Taking Goff and screwing ourselves for 2 straight years financially trying to fit it all together (on top of him sucking) is looking really bad for Holmes and Campbell right now.
At least Fields looks like shit so far, but yeah passing on pick 8, for two picks that will be late twenty’s is not a good look
At least he's occasionally fun to watch. I don't think I've seen a full Bears game this year, but he had over 100 yards rushing yesterday?
Liberty plays Ole Miss this weekend. Hopefully Corral plays so we can see he and Willis in the same game.
This article seems like all speculation based on press conference quotes. For example, if he's taking blame in press conferences for bad performances, but then getting on players in the locker room in private, isn't that how it's supposed to work? How is that a mixed message? Is he supposed to trash all the players publicly?
Part of me wonders if we just keep Decker out all season to give Sewell the season at LT and then we cross the Decker bridge in the off-season.
They had to activate Decker, right? His 3 weeks were up. It doesn't seem like he's all that close to coming back at this point, but just to have the option of playing him at some point the rest of the way I think they had to do this. I've yet to see any reasoning on why they started the 3-week clock for him to return when he clearly wasn't ready to do so. That seems like a mistake from Campbell/Holmes unless something happened right after they did it to set him back (which is possibly what happened and I missed due to not wanting to read about this team from Monday-Saturday).
Does Jackson grade out well? Hard to pay attention to him every snap but he seems to get abused/make mistakes pretty regularly over the course of a game.
Reading about Malik Willis, his trainer says he ran an unofficial 4.37 40. His athleticism is clearly off the charts, but he has so far to go as a passer. All that said, I’m still intrigued with him as the guy if we pick a QB with our first pick.
Does any #1 pick really pan out? Eliminating the last few years, it's basically Luck, the Mannings and Orlando Pace over the last 30 years that you look at and thing its a no-brainer, and Luck and Eli have asterisks.
At this point, I'm not even looking at QB at #1. I'm taking Thibodeaux or trading back, and then seeing who is left when the Rams pick. There might be 5-8 QBs in this draft who are all about the same and I have no clue how people are supposed to separate them. Howell Willis Corral Pickett Strong Ridder Daniels
You are not wrong but if we pick first, I’ll give Dorsey the benefit of the doubt at sifting through these guys to find the best QB. If there isn’t a guy worth taking, yeah, you just take Thibodeaux. That’s probably what happens anyway. I do think you’ll see guys separate after pro days though.
I think it's more likely we separate them at the Senior Bowl, since there's a very high likelihood we'll be coaching there, and almost certainly will see at least one of Willis, Pickett, Strong, Ridder and/or Corral.
Lions take Howell, especially #1, that would be typical Lions and set this team back a few extra years
Draft a QB until you find a good one like the Cardinals. Was quoting a post that talked about a QB with the Rams pick tho
If Urban can hold on for another minute, the Texas will be the only team with one win. Gotta clear out the riff raff.
I still think Goff starts every game this season, barring injury. Boyle’s return lowers my confidence in that thought, but only slightly. I still think all our QBs are trash.
I'm going to wait for us to actually win a game before I become concerned with such things. Because at the moment that doesn't seem all that likely, unfortunately.
We have come too close against good teams for it not to happen. If Campbell still has everyone playing hard late in the season, I can see us picking off a team that’s given up.
Brugler released his mid year top 50, and it’s basically all linemen in the top ten. Thibodeaux, Hamilton and Stingley are 1-3 and Hutchinson is 6. He had Corral at 16, his only QB in the top 25.
Me every Sunday: “throw the ball down the fucking field” Me after every Goff throw down the field: “let’s just take a knee”
