Who are we saving this money for? To sign Tavai to a long term deal? Just pay him unless he wants a 7 year deal or some shit.
He’s going to want top 5 WR money. If the Lions are going to move on from Stafford, and tear things down, it may not make financial sense to pay a WR that kind of money, when you’re going to be sucking for at least 50% of the contract. Franchising is the right move, and the direction they will likely go at this time. Based on that Instagram post, doesn’t sound like they’re close to signing a new deal.
the problem with franchising him is you can't spread out the money, and next season's cap has a chance to be really fucked up due to the loss of revenue this season.
I'm no cap expert, but if we dump Stafford and tear it down we're going to have an absolute fuck ton of cap room. I'm fairly certain we already do. Sign Golladay to a 4 year deal so the rookie QB can have a weapon his first few years. If hell freezes over and we have a good draft next year, he'd be off the books anyways by the time we'd have to sign those guys to extensions. I guess I don't see much of an upside to kicking the can down the road for a year. I guess my idea is bad if the new GM wants to rebuild through free agency, but we're fucked anyways if that's the case.
I need you guys to please tell your coaches to use Swift more and AP less. Really need Detroit to get the W today. Thanks
Atlanta may be worse coached than the Lions and its shocking. Still don't get why they went for it on 4th and 5, kick the FG that last drive is meaningless. Also you don't need to ask your rb to fall at the 1 if you take a knee
yall see this? Golladay tackled at the 8 yard line on the last drive - refs review it for whatever reason. come back say yes it's a catch...at the 11?
Also didn't understand why the penalty didn't count since it was thrown before review... But the extra yards may have helped out. But very odd
