I was watching a video of Willis trying to throw a football in a garbage can this morning. Although he missed on all of them, I’m sold.

I think we win too many games next year anyways (at least more than 3 or 4) and will miss out on Stroud / Young at the top of draft, so we’d probably be reaching for a guy anyways at the 7/8 pick range.

Say the Rams draft #25 next year. Would #8 & #25 be enough to move up to top 3?

I still think the Rams win the SB and Stafford gets hurt next year and they suck

You would need to trade up to #2. Based on the trade value chart that is worth 2600. So if we were picking 8th, it would take pick 8 and 12 to move up to 2.

Anyone watching? Willis is a difference maker. Already picked up two first downs with his feet. He’s a game changer. May need to worry about somebody trading up to 1 to get him.

It's just a 2 round mock for everyone. It has the Lions taking Thibedoux, Jahan Dotson and Dax Hill with our three picks.

From the Pride of Detroit write up:

If you were looking for the Lions to land a quarterback in the first round, it’s worth noting that Reid has four selected between this pick and Detroit’s next selection. Fresh off strong Senior Bowl performances, Malik Willis (pick No. 6) and Kenny Pickett (No. 11) are the first two off the board to Carolina and Washington respectively. Matt Corral goes off the board next (No. 18), with Sam Howell (No. 20) the last signal-caller taken in the first round.

That's the range I've seen for him in most of the rankings/mocks. He's on the back end of the top WRs somewhere in that 25-40ish zone.

I’ll be curious how the partnership between Holmes and Campbell goes this off-season. It wouldn’t shock me if Campbell really wants Willis but Holmes might not see the value in the area where we can be assured of drafting him (realistically I think he has to be taken 2 if we want him).

Eric Ebron is officially the worst draft pick in this city's history, right? Gotta be worse than Rodgers and Darko now

Offense led by Stafford, defense by Donald....instead we got that ass clown dropping passes and trolling people on Twitter. Not to mention it was an awful pick at the time, taking a TE that high.

People clown Pistons hard for the Darko pick and obviously so, but I had this argument with someone recently and went back and double checked and on lottery night when we got the 2nd pick the commentator made a comment to the effect of "that means Detroit is going to get Darko". He was also on the cover of espn the magazine with the title "He's #2". He was a pretty consensus #2 at the time, he was just a huge bust.

Ebron pick like you said was always terrible and has turned out even more so as years have gone on

I guess silver lining is Rams may suck next year if everybody retires, but still ended up being a dogshit return for Stafford. Will it go down as being worse return than Verlander. I guess we will see, but the guy we took with the 3rd rounder last year hasn’t done shit yet

You can get a solid player end of rd 1...not saying the Lions can, but it's possible

Also hoping Goff playing better end of year means we can flip him for another pick this offseason to a QB desperate team. Although I doubt that happens

Didn't mean to add the D, Charles Rogers. But he's more in the complete bust in hindsight category like Darko than the Ebron category

Rogers got hurt and it ruined his career. I don't think him busting is the same as guys who just couldn't play. Rogers looked awesome his rookie year but broke his collarbone twice his first two years and he was never the same (seemingly on or off the field) after that.

He broke his collar bone and went from a 4.3 guy to a 4.8 guy somehow. He was decent those first 5 games though

Seemed like the second one just broke him mentally and he never really cared about football again. I remember reading about how awesome he looked in camp his second year coming back from the first one, and then he got hurt again and that was just the end.

Lions had to part ways w stafford to kick start a fire sale rebuild. Holmes is 7/7 on his first draft through year 1. He’ll draft a 4 time pro bowler w the 32rd pick next draft

Ernie Sims wasn't great but I can't even say he was a top 5 worst lions 1st rd pick in last 20 years. Hell he isn't even the worst LB we've taken in 1st rd in that time (although Davis was taken 12 spots later)

Caught 22 of 52 targets for 243 tds in 5 games as a rookie...not sure id describe that as awesome.

Injuries and off field issues surely played a very large part in his issues but they weren't career ending injuries

Not sure Ebron was even the worst in Lions history, let alone Detroit sports. Mike Williams contributed far less and was their 3rd straight top 10 wr pick. A little more old school Bryant Westbrook went 5th and barely played. Okudah may be well on his way to claiming that title as well.

With Ebron you have to factor in everyone even at the time thought we should have taken a guy who has been the best defensive player the past 5-10 years. Not saying biggest bust, I'm saying worst pick. Taking a TE in top 10, played nowhere near expectations plus passing up a dominant HOF DL to take him all factor in.

Man, everyone knew that Ebron pick was terrible, and Donald and Zack Martin were sitting right there at positions of need.

Don't forget some of the terrible 2nd rounders, too. Take your pick of Tavai and Tabor for the absolute worst, but special mention to taking both Titus Young and Mikel Leshoure in the 2nd round in 2011.

Lol the next 7 picks weren't just pro bowl players but at one point were considered among the best in the league at their position. Lions had Suh and Fairley that time, so don't think Donald was ever realistically on the table. They went 11-5 that following season, imagine having any one of those other guys on the roster. Fuller/Shazier/Mosley would have probably made the most sense looking back at that roster
