These have been floating around as someones concept, not rumored ones, but I like the helmet especially (although im sure they arent switching logos back). I'd almost be cool with no stripes on sleeves at all. Go almost like the Thanksgiving throwbacks but tweaked slightly
Hopefully this includes a full rebrand. Logo, font, and helmets are expansion level. I don't hate the jersey/pants, but would love to go to a look closer to what we had in the 90s.
Jersey needs a hit of white, not saying white numbers but at least white trim. Also sounds like it's just new uniforms not full rebrand
I was able to do a pff mock draft that got Carter, Witherspoon, Sewell, To'o To'o as well as same late rounders and also got us Jalen Ramsey in a trade. So I expect at least that now
From looking more into the prospect rankings and mocks, two guys people aren't talking about a ton for us that I think we could take are Drew Sanders and Peter Skoronski. Especially if we get a DB at 6 and don't want to take two of them in the first round. I also think a lot of people in our fan base are going to be annoyed over the next 2.5 months by all the tight ends mocked to us in the first round.
Drafting a UofM backup QB worked out well for the patriots. Do we think that the Lions can do the same with a DB? https://mgoblue.com/sports/football/roster/quinten-johnson/23075
I have no clue where Skoronski goes. Some people have him ranked in their top 5. Others closer to 20. He's a tackle with short arms and people think is going to play guard. Seems like somewhere in the teens is most likely, but that might depend on what other OTs jump into that mix as alternatives.
I had to read the profile because I didn’t think UofM had a top 10 projected DB on the roster this year and was very confused. Anyway, probably rather this than a TE
Tbh I'd hate Richardson at 6 (which I've seen mocked) more than Johnson... but I'd hate them both. Honestly if Carter fell to the 4ish range I'd be on board trading up a couple spots for him. If they don't love any CB more than others, I'd also be on board trading down a few spots and taking a CB. Top 5 could go so many ways I think we won't know what to expect until draft day
QB or pass rusher with the 6th pick. There aint to third direction. Spoiler id be okay with Witherspoon.
Ideal world people go QB crazy and Carter or Anderson fall to us or we move up a spot or two to grab one I'd also be OK with Witherspoon if first 5 picks include Young, Stroud, Carter and Anderson as expected
We have an enough ammo to trade up for Anderson or Carter, so that’s my wish. The drop off from those two to everyone else is massive, and either player would radically change our defense.
Yea unless there is a qb run I'm not a huge fan of being 6 in this draft. Probably too late for Anderson or Carter and seems a little early for a CB, but Witherspoon seems he may be good enough to secure instead of risking a trade down. I'd be looking to move up or down
My first preference would actually be to move up this year. Have picks and could really use another difference maker on D
why would a team at 4 move down to 6, and miss passing on Anderson or Carter. Not worth it to pick up a late 2nd rounder
Obviously depends on what other teams want to do, could swap our 1st for their early 2nd too to give a team two firsts
There are a lot of corners who seem to have a first round grade. I'd be fine with taking our favorite one at six. i'll still be left to wonder wtf the plan is at QB, but whatever
You might not like the plan at QB, but it's not hard to figure out if we don't take one in the first round.
We going to draft like Hooker rd 3 or 4 I'd guess. Think there was even reports about our staff spending time with him at draft. If Young or even Stroud make it to 6 that may change things but they clearly view Goff as the starter and think they may be competitive this year so I doubt this staff spends a top 10 pick on 3rd or 4th best QB either of which have huge bust potential
I’m still not discounting Richardson at 6 if we don’t make a move up (or either defensive player falls). It’s not my wish because the chances of coaching a QB to become more accurate is unlikely, but Holmes went to five Florida games this season and I’m sure the scout in him can’t believe the physical traits Richardson possesses. Also this staff seems supremely confident in its ability to develop players, which is why when you look at the entire picture, Richardson at 6 isn’t a wild thought. Plus we still have 18 and the two seconds to address defense (along with whatever we do on FA). Just saying all this for people to mentally prepare for the possibility.
Yes It is, he's terrible. You don't waste the 6th pick on at best the 4th best QB prospect hoping he one day may put it together. Especially when you have a team who may be competitive next year and needs impact defensive players
