I don't know why I watch this every week. This is embarrassing. We just left 7 men in on 3rd and long to protect 4 DL and still gave up instant pressure and a sack.
9 fucking points from 3 red zone trips and Hillbilly literally tossed/pitched the Vikings 7 points. Stafford is so coddled by the media.
Yep fuck him. He’s just an average at best QB. We spend countless rescources and first rounds picks for his supporting cast, and he still is a mediocre QB. No playoff wins in the 10 years he’s been here. Pathetic I’m ready to move on. It can’t get much worse than it has.
lol he got sacked 75x yesterday and Vinegar Strokes is ready to rebuild with shae patterson next year
It’s not just yesterday dude. Name 3 big games he has won on the road in his career And no I don’t want sugar Shane. But with a lot of these good young QB performing well now, it wouldn’t be a bad thing to consider. I say we move on after his contract is over
I'm not saying he's great, but yesterday wasn't on him. Also, his contract is through 2022, so i guess we'll see how things go until then.
I think Stafford is good, bordering on great. I also think he’s been doomed to failure by the same organizational missteps that have haunted this team for over half a century. If Stafford hit the open market, probably 2/3rds of the league would make a run at him. Maybe that’s a sign of how bad QB play is around the league, maybe it’s a sign of how good he is. The truth is somewhere in the middle. Regardless, he isn’t the problem.
Organizational missteps like not being able to put a servicable offensive line together in my entire lifetime?
He wasn’t great yesterday either. Missed a wide open Golladay on the sidelines, and the dumb fucking fumble the sealed the game. I believe he has 3 years left after this season. They could probably trade him like the Chiefs did with Alex Smith when he has one or two seasons left.
I'm pretty sure the 50 years of Detroit Lions history prior to Stafford's arrival proves that it can get much, much worse.
You mean no victories? No division titles in almost 30 years? No it can’t. Who cares if we win 7-8 games instead of 0-5. It still sucks.
This is such a Detroit sports radio caller take. "Stafford isn't really the problem, but we haven't won in 8 years with him and he's been around longer than everyone else so I'm tired of him. I want someone new."
Right. Instead of trying to get better and moving on, let’s just be mediocre for another 8-10 years with the same guy.
Dumping Stafford isn't "trying to get better". That's trying to get worse so that, maybe, at some point down the road, you can find another quarterback who might be able to help you get back to where we are now or possibly a little bit better.
Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that Joe Marciano has been relieved of his duties as special teams coordinator.
Call me crazy, but we win today. Chicago has yet to beat a team with winning record. They’re trash. 24-20
