PFF had him rated slightly higher than where we picked him, but with the character concerns I probably would have looked at one of the other WR

Wisconsin coaches apparently vouched hard for him, which probably carried weight in terms of character after the acquittal. He also has this in his background, which I'm sure Trey Wingo has or will cover if/when they talk about him...

His father (Andre Taylor), who was known as “Gangsta Dre” and was a member of the Westside Gangster Crips street gang, spent time in prison for assault and drug trafficking and was murdered (April 2017) after he was shot in the head.

I would rather draft a much faster receiver than Cephus. Also, less rapey and maybe less gangy?

For fantasy guys Emory Hunt was really high on him. Not sure how be rates as a scout but he's on the fantasy pod circuit a lot and can recall him bringing Cephus up ...

Huntley had 5 KR TDs in college. I'm assuming that's the reason for the pick, although the league going away from kickoffs at some point makes stuff like that kind of pointless.

They could have drafted a developmental receiver and return man in one player in either spot and used the other pick on anything else, but Quinn has decided to prove how smart he is on Day 3.

Agnew and Ty Johnson probably shouldn't get too comfortable.

He had 134 receptions in college, so slot WR seems very possible. Especially with a year to sit behind Amendola.

So the new Ty Johnson. Who we drafted last year.

It's the 5th round, so who cares, but today isn't going great.

If Huntley is a slot WR moving forward, I don't have a beef with two picks there (although I would have liked someone other than Cephus for multiple reasons).

If Huntley is basically a RB/kick return guy, I'm with you.

The OG and Cephus are good depth to me, but idk about a small school RB unless we are completely moving on from/trading Kerryon ...

Most teams carry 5 rb/FB on 53 man roster and 4 suit up on sundays. Looking at the roster last year, we had Johnson, Bo, ty Johnson, JD (Gone) and nobody else worth mentioning. They needed to retool the depth and roster. I think Kerryon is fine and will be used appropriately with swift.

Not sure about most teams. Think there are plenty out there that suit up 3. Shady was a healthy scratch a couple times for KC. I still like Kerryon, just not sure about using two picks on RBs with a room that was already pretty full ...

Those numbers are usually dependent on the ability to play special teams. If McCoy wasn't going to be a top 2 RB option for KC, he wasn't going to dress because he wasn't going to cover or return kicks.

Also, the league bumped up roster sizes to 55 total and 48 on game days, I believe, which plays into some of the numbers moving forward at different positions.

Ehhhh, I'll take GB and Minny's pretty comfortably. Over CHI perhaps. And we still have the worst DL with no draft capital spent to address it ...

He's like 250 lbs so I think OLB/pass rusher. The interior DL especially still looks like a massive problem, depending on what you think about Shelton ...

I'm not saying it wasn't a need, but once you have Swift/Kerryon/Bo as your top 3 think you're OK to go the UDFA route for additional depth. But again other kid could be a slot/returner primarily ...

I think they view DT differently than we do. I think they view DT run stopping positions, and then on third down they take them out and bring in Hand and/or move Flowers inside. I think that's an antiquated view of defense because every down is a passing down today, but I think that's their mindset and why they don't view it like we do.

Yep. It’s a big issue with our defense. Truly a bend but don’t break outfit. It can work if you have playmakers somewhere, but we didn’t get that until later in the season when Flowers finally got healthy.

I'll add that if Hand comes back and plays like he did as a rookie, and Nick Williams backs up last year's 6 sack performance for Chicago, interior pass rush won't be as much of an issue as it was this year when we were throwing Harrison and A'Shawn out there most of the time. I'm not sure what the likelihood of either of those things is, which is part of the concern.

I think Shelton's increased sack production last year was fluky based on the highlights I saw. I'm not expecting anything there.
