The funny thing is we have a former college DL on the OL, and the guy who went in there instead is a guy who is like 7'0" tall. Granted, that's the case because said former college DL is currently our RT due to injuries. But still.
The thing that's kind of weird to me about the retcon of the Caldwell era is that I think you could argue that Mayhew was the guy who might deserve more of a second chance than Caldwell. The talent level since Mayhew left has gone down big time. Granted, part of the reason for that is because Mayhew built around three top three picks and looks better because of Quinn, but I kind of hope he gets another shot at some point considering he went to SF and they've done a decent job in personnel.
