Here's the tweet, but I didn't realize it was LaCanfora who said it so it's probably not accurate. I think you're right, also, that he probably wouldn't commit to anything until he sees what happens with Bieniemy.
Washington is about to hire Mayhew. Curious to see how he does, given how terrible the guys both before and after him did. Maybe he isn't as bad as I thought at the time
I still haven't done a crazy in depth review of Lance, but what I've seen i think hed fit that style. Fields and Wilson would as well. Although it seems most top QB prospects now show a little athleticism
He's had a weird career based on his Wiki page. Worked his way up Reid's coaching staff from 04-10, going from basically Reid quality control guy to QB coach to, eventually, an assistant OC title after the 2010 season. But right after he got that title, he took a job as the Bengals' WR coach. And, while it's possible the Bengals just never let him leave to pursue other jobs, they had 3-4 different OCs and several QB coaches while he was there and he never moved. If I had to guess what happened in Philly, the assistant OC title was nothing and he saw the writing on the wall when Pederson was named QB coach that year. Now he's the QB coach for Roman, who seems nothing like Reid offensively other than he has some West Coast Offense roots from his time with Jim at Stanford and SF.
I would have cum if the 30 seconds before this were video of the day they took Patricia’s name off the office
Wood needs to stop talking. He gives off so many "Al Avila quoting Baseball America/MLB Pipeline prospect rankings" vibes. Given his role it's fine that he's in the interviews. It's stupid they let him talk at these pressers, though.
I liked how he said "I can give you coachspeak, but you've had enough of that shit." Then, he immediately said the coachspeak about "taking on the identity of the city" that literally ever coach who has ever coached a Detroit sports team has said.
I laughed at him saying his philosophy is putting our best on your worst because Patricia literally refused to subscribe to that scenario.
Listened to ten minutes of 97.1 and callers have compared Campbell to George Patton and Dick Butkus. Poor bastards are eating this up.
Campbell said he's interviewed "at least 4 candidates" for both OC and DC. Glenn is apparently the DC, and Birkett says Glenn has apparently been talking to veteran DCs about possibly joining the staff in his first year to help him out. Birkett also said two candidates he's heard for OC (besides Urban) are Anthony Lynn and Ken Dorsey (current BUF QB coach). Not really sure what to make of any of those guys.
I agree about cleaning house, but not sure what on Ike Hilliard resume shows he can run an offense better than Bevell. Not excited about that one, but like some of other names floating around
The guy seems highly regarded. For me I approve because he meets my main criteria for hiring an assistant: Paul Pasqualoni or not Paul Pasqualoni.
I think Wilson and Fields is a coin flip. If either fell to 7, I absolutely take them. Lance is someone I will say right now I don’t want but if we drafted him I would talk myself into him immediately.
Wilson Fields Lance Wilson is the only one I'd feel comfortable playing in the first half of next season, which is why I'd take him first. The other two seem like you have to sit them for different reasons. If Fields can get comfortable in an offense and learn to make quicker decisions, he has the highest ceiling of the group, IMO. I don't really know what to make of Lance and will probably read a bunch of reports on him the next few months until one of them makes sense to me and I can just steal their opinion as my own.
