Can't wait to proclaim who I don't want the Lions to draft so we know for certain who Mayhew will take.
We ended the George Johnson offer sheet dispute by trading him to the Bucs. Not sure what we got for him but it is probably a 7th
We swapped picks with TB. Haven't seen what picks were swapped. Guessing we're giving them a 7, and the absolute best case scenario is us getting a 6. More likely we give them our worst seven and they give us their 7 at the top of the round.
why is Ihedigbo being such a cunt. last year Caldwell does him a solid with a two year deal and a starting gig, now he thinks hes in position to hold out?
He's 31 and probably figures this might be his best shot at getting paid. It's not going to work, and he'll be there whenever it's mandatory because he doesn't make enough to be able to deal with the fines that would come from missing stuff like that.
So with the schedules being released tomorrow, it's time to guess prime time games. I am thinking we end up with two (outside of Thanksgiving and the London game) MNF vs PHI SNF vs GB
I'm going to guess we end up with: Minny on Thanksgiving @GB on a Sunday night v. Philly on a Monday night
If they want a good, fresh match-up, they would almost have to do something like that with the NFC West teams. I just can't see them forcing a West Coast team to play the early game on Thanksgiving, though. Seems like there would be so much bitching about it that it wouldn't be worth it for the league in the end. I just don't want it to be the Packers again. I'm tired of playing GB on FOX that day every other year.
That was my thought as to why the Cards may not happen. I wonder if the AFC could get on this years broadcast after we had the Bears last year. I could see Denver in that case.
http://arrestinquiryweb.co.mecklenb...&BrowseArrestDate=&BrowseLastDayArrests=False Needless to say Austin was released immediately
Seems like CB, OL, DT and RB are the most likely positions we go in the first three rounds, so how would you rank your top five hopefuls at the different positions? Seems like there's nothing close to a consensus at any of them. I'd go: CB Trae Waynes Kevin Johnson Byron Jones* Eric Rowe Jalen Collins OL La'el Collins Brandon Scherff DJ Humphries Ereck Flowers Andrus Peat DT Malcom Brown Danny Shelton Eddie Goldman Grady Jarrett Carl Davis RB Todd Gurley Melvin Gordon Jay Ajayi TJ Yeldon Duke Johnson If we're ordering things in terms of positional need, I'd go OL, CB, DT, then RB.
Packers and Bears are playing each other on Thanksgiving. I can't imagine them doing all four NFC North teams that day so maybe it will be a team like the Cards, Niners or Broncos.
We have back to back Thursday games for some reason. Green Bay comes to Detroit the Thursday after Thanksgiving.
That DEN/@SEA/ARZ stretch is brutal. I guess the rest of the schedule isn't overly daunting, but the placement of some of these games is rough.

This Glover Quin presser sounds like it was amusing: Dave Birkett @davebirkett Quin: If we play our best game and the Chargers play their best game, I feel like the Lions will win. Dave Birkett @davebirkett Quin said "We're going to have some good momentum, we're going to be 2-0" going into Denver game, said Lions will win, head to Seattle 3-0 Justin Rogers @Justin_Rogers Quin now breaking down schedule game by game. Team is 3-0 after wins over San Diego, Minnesota and Denver. Stopped at trip to Seattle. Tim Twentyman @ttwentyman Quin said after going through 1st quarter of schedule he sees #Lions going 3-0 heading to Seattle week 4 "Then we see how that plays out." Justin Rogers @Justin_Rogers Quin now has the Lions 6-1, heading to London. Not sure why I find this hilarious. Now 7-1 at the bye.
Dave Birkett @davebirkett Mayhew said the Lions are going to pick up Riley Reiff's fifth-year option, will finish the paperwork soon.
