Great idea, with Ragnow being on his last year of a 4 year contract, we will probably be starting a new center come next year.
Yes, he has 2 years left. He's also about to turn 29. I get that he has had a ton of injuries but I think the retirement stuff is premature. Those guys needing to learn how to play center is basically just because if you're a guard who doesn't start you bring very little value to the team unless you can at least fill in at center for a stretch if you need to.
Didn’t ragnow himself talk about retirement last year? Guy has been a walking infirmary who’s played through a ton of injuries, being prepared to replace him is a good idea.
I'm not saying they don't need contingency plans in case it happens. I'm saying i would be surprised if he retired at age 29 or 30 when he's still good enough to make this kind of $$.
DETROIT LIONS: CB Terrion Arnold Arnold’s rookie year did not go as planned for a former first-round pick, though it’s not often easy for any rookie cornerback to come into the league and immediately start shutting down NFL talent. Arnold still allowed just a 61.2% reception rate when targeted, a top-25 mark among 73 qualifying cornerbacks. For Arnold, the best is certainly yet to come, as his time at Alabama as a high-end coverage corner would suggest.
Reception % allowed when targeted would seem to take out all of the penalties, which were as big of a problem as the completions. They put him in a really tough spot with all the man coverage he played, so hopefully he's more prepared in year two.
I feel like great DB's look "fluid" in their mechanisms. I never watched him last year and thought his movements were "fluid". He made some plays but it never looked easy/herky jerky. I don't know. I like him and his personality, so hopefully it was just a year of figuring it out.
They appear winning to trade road games at Pittsburgh and Cleveland for a two week trip and two neutral site games. They went from 8 home games and 9 roadies to 8 home, 7 road and 2 neutral.
Open with the national Sunday afternoon game in Lambeau, play at the Chiefs on Sunday night football, play at Minnesota on Christmas Day. Still need scheduled roadies against Baltimore, Philly, the Rams, the Commanders and the Bengals, along with the Bears. I’m thinking the Bucs, Steelers or Packers on Thanksgiving.
I would expect Baltimore, Washington and Philly to be a Sunday night or Monday night games, and the Rams to be a Sunday afternoon game.
