The three-point shooting the last two games is kind of crazy. Like that Casey is giving him big minutes.
Not sure how plugged in Edwards is with this stuff, but he thinks... - Drummond gets dealt - Blake gets shut down - Rose stays until next year's deadline I hope Blake doesn't get shut down, and not trading Rose this year seems insane.
I don’t understand not trading rose this year. How could he be better next year as compared to this year and what’s the likelihood of him being hurt? Looks like not trading griffin last year is a huge mistake now.
Rolling the dice that Rose won't get hurt after the deadline to increase his trade value is dumb idea.
I don't think they would hold on to him thinking his value would increase. If they hold on to him, it's because they don't want to (or Gores won't let them) tank completely.
At this point, Atlanta seems like the clear choice, and it sounds like he has a relationship with Trae Young that could potentially help convince him to stick there long term. The league goes in cycles in terms of cap space and contracts, and last offseason was so active in FA that very few teams have the kinds of expiring deals the Pistons would (and should) prefer to match salaries. If Detroit can get something like Parsons + Brooklyn's 1st round pick, we should do it because I don't think anyone is in a position to top that. We should be able to move Rose and Galloway, as well, if we want.
Doesn't sound promising for any return on Drummond: A source with knowledge of the situation downplays the likelihood of the Hawks and Pistons agreeing on an Andre Drummond trade, according to Amick, who hears from a second source that Atlanta could already have landed the center if the team was willing to include a first-round pick in its offer.
Shams also said the Knicks have called on Drummond, which makes no sense for them. Only thing I could see is maybe they're done with Ntilikina and we've shown interest before this year, and maybe they deal him and an expiring and we end up with a free look at a young PG. NY could easily sign him this summer if they want so I don't know why else they would do that.
I think if we wanted guaranteed picks, we should’ve blown this thing up last year to give a team 1-1.5 years with Drummond. I’m not sure what contender, besides Boston, really covets him right now.
The source said it was the Pistons who initiated discussions with a package centered around Drummond and another Pistons player for big man Julius Randle and guard Frank Ntilikina, a player the Pistons have previously tried to pry from the Knicks.
I don’t mind that because we’d get both for 2 more years for an expiring but would still want picks to build around them and Sekou. Randle could also be used as future trade bait.
I guess we do. I did a sim lottery on tankathon.com and we got the 1st pick on my fifth try. We're golden.
Pistons currently sit at the #6 pick (6th best odds) and yet that is still the worst pick we are looking at having in Detroit this year...
