We suck, but this front office/coach combination right now seems like a good thing moving forward. Casey appears to be very good at developing young guys, and the front office has done a very nice job in finding guys off the scrap heap like Rose, Morris and Svi, as well as drafting guys like Brown and Sekou. If the owner let them rebuild instead of fight for an 8 seed the last two years, I think this group would have us in a decent situation.
Svi Mykhailuk has scored in double figures 11 times in his last 13 games and has 20+ points the last two nights. He's a restricted FA this year, and Christian Wood is unrestricted. Kind of crazy we're going to have to pay those guys something like $15-20M combined in their next deals if we want to keep them.
Neither of these teams has much to trade. The Lakers would have to trade Kuzma, and I'm not sure I want that. Philly doesn't have much of anything.
This front office is better than the Tigers and Lions. To this point I don't think it's even close. I think this front office is actually kind of good. This owner is dumber and does more coke than the Tigers and Lions and owners, but I'm not sure he's worse. They're all bad in their own ways.
Did you guys already discuss how Detroit is going to have the most losses across the 4 major sports in one calendar year? I heard that the other day
So if we win tonight we are only a couple games out of the 8th seed. Is Gores gonna come out and say we are buyers?
It appears Casey has just decided to take Rose off his minutes restriction, which is very weird considering our circumstances.
There was a story on the Athletic this week that said Rose went to the team asking to play more minutes because he’s feeling great.
LA rumors are that Lakers turned down giving up Caruso and a 2nd for Rose. If that's too much then I can't imagine they get offers that would make it worthwhile to trade him.
I don't buy the Lakers turned that down, and would be mad if the Pistons offered it. I'd rather keep him than trade him for that.
Big loss tonight. A win would have put us 1.5 games back from the 8th seed and gores would have traded a 1st for a bench player who can’t shoot
Apparently we can't get shit for anybody, so trading would be a waste. With the caveat that I'd trade Drummond for anything.
They're 3.5 games back despite playing one of the easiest schedules in the league to this point. Blake is out the rest of the year, and there's no way Rose can continue to play at the level he's played at to this point with the minutes he's playing. Kennard is out and there doesn't seem to be a set time frame on when he's coming back. How the hell are they likely to be make up that ground? They've lost 3 of 4 this week to the Wizards, Grizzlies and Nets.
I don’t see a win in their next 4 games and the 5th is vs the suns so that could be a loss too. We may finish last in the league with the brutal second half schedule
