I’m less worried about Killian / Halliburton than I am that the only semi-viable big on the roster is B33F ST3W. Teams with a single legit 7 footer kill us. Teams with multiple do whatever the bucks/Cavs have
The issue is this next draft class is guard heavy ( outside of Victor). Say we pick #2. You gotta take Scoot, but that likely pushes a guy like Ivey to the bench, or we can look to trade him for a big.
We’re probably not drafting 2. Someone will “emerge” and also Plumlee is a free agent this off-season. Diallo breaking Duren’s ankle is a huge issue
we are clearly in the bottom 4 of league though. Hopefully ping pong balls are in our favor, but thing will probably be rigged and #1 pick will go to the lakers.
Detroit sports fans are made up of Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Notre Dame fans. Yet we all are United against James Edwards. It’s amazing/.
The pistons media granting Weaver a free pass on Killian and Casey a free pass for continuing to play him is absolutely baffling.
There isn’t anyone else to play though. Our bench is awful. And on that note it’s not all on Killian. He’s a non-shooter passer that plays the bulk of his team with players that are also non-shooters. It’s a recipe for disaster
Weaver should be held accountable for blowing the Hayes pick and also trading second round picks because he’s bored. He’s been good otherwise, but it’s laughable he doesn’t get any criticism locally.
I'm not saying Weaver has sucked and honestly think he's done fine. But Killian pick is a disaster, we finally got lottery luck and he had a no brainer pick in Cade. A few other picks too early to tell. Certainly too early to call him a success and start giving him free passes for things
Too soon to tell but Ivey and Duren are gonna be studs imo. Bey and Stew mid-firsts are hits. Killian is obviously not good currently. Cade is an all-star in his second nba season. Weaver’s 5/6 in his first round picks and is turning around a dying franchise over the last 20 years. He’s way better than fine.
Very well be way better than fine, too early to tell. I'm not complaining about him. I'm just saying his resume thus far does not justify the media giving him a complete free pass
He’s been fine, but your job is a lot easier especially when you have 2 picks (3 after this year). Hit on those guys, and you pretty much automatically have a playoff team.
It’s like we don’t realize he started with Blake, Derrick Rose, and limited draft picks. Weaver has done a good job so far. But his bench is terrible right now
This upcoming lottery pick will be the most important one Weaver makes, because we likely won’t be a high lottery team again we Cade, Ivey and Duren develop. If he hits a home run with this pick, I’ll call him great.
If he can become Andre Roberson with playaking skills, then that's fine, but Roberson was somehow a better 3 point shooter at this point.
Killian started with a 3 and then absolutely embarrassingly misses a floater/layup. I've never seen anyone with less touch around basket.
Cade with 0 on 0-6 in 12 minutes. I don't think it means anything, but wanted to say it before Vinegar Strokes could
Can't wait to see Edward's tweets about how he was right about Killian after one game with 13 points in his 3rd season
It's a damn epidemic in this town. Need LeDuff to investigate mattress stores in metro Detroit to do a conspiracy piece on it
