Good to see Casey not play Ivey down the stretch and give him less minutes than Killian and same as Burks
Might be saving him for tomorrow night. Is it just me or have there been a lot of back-to-backs so far this season?
I don’t think he’s coaching to win right now and I think it’s fine to play Killian when he’s being productive. If he contributes 11/7/6 on a semi-consistent basis we have a lot of roster flexibility
Fully healthy I think Cade-Ivey-Bogdanovich-Bagley-Stewart and Hayes/CoJo-Burks-Livers-Bey-Duren is their rotation
Something tells me replacing Bey with Bagley in the starting line-up isn't going to improve our atrocious defense
Duren is only good defensive big beside Noel, who hasn't played particularly well and is 5th in the big rotation. Bagley and Cade had a good connection last year and I'm sure that's playing into starting him to get him on court with Cade when healthy. Bagley and Duren both would get in each other's way on offense and can't shoot so that probably doesn't work.
I don’t think that Casey gets fired, but it seems like this West Coast trip could be the tipping point if we go 1-5 or 0-6. I get that there is a lot outside his control, but at a certain point doesn’t it makes sense to bring in a new voice?
Honestly, good call. If he’s not losing the kids, it makes sense to play out the string and get the best pick possible.
Feels like we’re compensating for the standard uniforms that need to be replaced. When that happens, I hope we do white at home and blue on the road. One alternate that sometimes rolls over if theyre really popular. We should have kept the red ones from last season and never let the black jerseys see the court.
Can’t go wrong if we finish in top 2 of draft. Interested to see which one of Cade or Ivey we trade if we land him.
Real hard to see any team doing that...especially with the recent text leaks where he was trying to convince the girl to say good things. Pistons easy team to throw out there due to MSU location.
It wouldn't really make sense on the court either. He's not fixing their interior defense and rebounding problems. Basically plays the same position as Bey and Bojan too.
Bey has been a disappointment. I know people on team tank this year, and I'm not so worried about losing, but the way the younger guys are playing is somewhat worrisome about the long term outlook of this team
I’m convinced Weaver is on the Avila plan of trying to suck ass for as long as he can while getting top 3 draft picks. If he doesn’t land Scoot or Victor, his time as GM may be coming to an end soon.
Think it's hilarious the beat writers trying to act like they've been proven right defending the pistons on Killian because he's averaged 11 and 4 over 6 games when the guy they drafted him over is leading the league in assists and averaging 20/10 on the season on 49% shooting
It’s absolutely embarrassing. I like all the other Athletic beat guys a ton. Bultman and Stavenhagen are absolutely amazing, and Pouncy seems good. Edwards is as bad as I’ve ever seen in Detroit though.
Avila started with a playoff team and traded established stars for nothing. Weaver started with washed players on bloated contracts and turned it into assets
Yeah I don’t want to lose Cade for a significant period of time this early in his career but also it is what it is at this point. Say we end up 2 in the draft and Ivey looks great. What kind of value would Scoot Henderson bring to the table?
