I think the defense was always going to be a problem to start. I'm getting more optimistic about the offense as they moved Killian to the bench and are forcing Ivey to do more and work through it. Based on pretty much everyone on the roster, I don't think the defense is getting fixed until a better coach comes in.
I think Weaver has handled the tear down about as well as one could hope. Where he will start losing my confidence is if he doesn’t move Casey into some executive role (I don’t think Gores would ever fire Casey) as soon as the season ends. That’s the most important thing at this point.
Don't worry, James and Ku will tell us later why it's a genius move by Weaver for a tanking team not to trade their 33 and 31 year old assets and how this team will magically be really good next year so we need them around
One of the articles I read said that if Phoenix hadn't landed Durant they were pivoting to a three team trade with Atlanta and Detroit for John Collins but it didn't give any details on the Detroit part
Maybe Bey blows up some where with a different role and better coaching. But it isn't happening in Detroit and moving him now before his value completely craters makes a lot of sense. Just don't understand a fit with Wiseman/Duren being similar but at this point no one on the roster has established any thing and taking upside flyers at any position is probably a good thing.
I'm intrigued by Bey for Moody + Wiseman to save GS money. I have no interest in Bey for Wiseman because how the hell are we developing Wiseman, Duren, Stewart and Bagley at the same time?
Vinegar Strokes confirming Pistons / Warriors have discussed potential trade involving Bey. does this mean I’m qualified for a job on the Pistons beat
Woj wrote today that Phoenix's back-up plan if they couldn't get Durant was a three-way they were working on with us and Atlanta where they would get Collins. I'm assuming Bogdanovic would have gone to Atlanta in that scenario, and we would have gotten picks and some contracts.
Not that Bey is great but if that’s all it is that kind of sucks. Especially since gsw needed to move off wiseman for a bunch of money
I hope we keep Noel so we can play 5 centers at once. I keep hearing about how well Stewart guards on the perimeter. Might as well try him at PG.
I'm not sure if you know this, but since February 6 Hayes is shooting almost 40 percent from 3. Something to think about.
Troy Weaver seems like the kind of guy who as a kid traded his sandwich for a chocolate milk and bag of Cheetos. And then he traded the Cheetos for another chocolate milk. And then he found an apple and he too traded that for a chocolate milk. And then that night he found out he was lactose intolerant.
