Buddy Boheim getting first quarter minutes and I’m presuming there is little drop off from Hayes.
I’m not as conflicted on this as I probably should be
Monster 1st quarter by Killian. Maybe his best as a Piston
Problem with Killian is beside his shooting, is he seems to only play well when he's only ball handling guard on court and running show himself. Doesn't seem to be able to play with Ivey and Cade, and way too terrible of a shooter to be your primary guy. But maybe if we load bench with off ball shooters he may have a future running the bench unit
A lot of reflection off championship trophies
Wouldn’t be shocked if we end up blowing this 30 point lead.
I’m hoping we do
It's tough because Miller is probably the best fit for this team regardless of where they pick. How many seasons can Victor's knees realistically hold up and Scoot can't shoot.
I was settling here before that whole dang murdering thing
But also going from 16 hours of police questioning to drop 30 the next day in vandy plus went for 40 and the game winner against usc the day after this all broke is wild. It’s almost like he’s oblivious to anything that isn’t basketball
he’s got that dawg in him. Something this team is missing.
Alright 13-2 run the end half. Only up 18 now. Let’s go
He was the best player on the court by a significant margin this past weekend in the SEC. If he plays at a similar level during the NCAA tournament, he's going #2 for sure and there will be a lot of #1 pick hot takes heading into the draft.
Miller is the best fit, but we should not be drafting for fit. Still need all the talent we can get.
Team is going to be real good next year, did you not get the memo? Joking aside he may be 2nd best player regardless of need
he’s the 3rd best player in the draft, and there is big drop off after him. I don’t think anyone is advocating taking him over Scoot or Victor.
If we don't get a top 2 pick, I would call Houston to see if we can trade the pick for Jabari Smith, who has been terrible for them this year. I'd rather take my chances with him than Miller or anyone else outside the top 2.
Former top pick big whose been a bust AND shoots under 40%....Troy, is that you?
(One year is also too quick to give up on a guy so I'd have more hope for him over our other big expirements)
I praise Killian for 8/7 in 1st and like 3/4 shooting for him to end game 10/11/5 TO and 4/11 shooting. That's what I get for being positive about him
O'Connell just put Miller at #2 over Scoot. I know he had Hayes #1 so take it with a grain of salt but he won't be the first pundit to move him higher. If Miller has a big tournament, he could easily pass Scoot as the consensus #2.
Remember when we traded for Wiseman, Duren was playing reallyy well and fans questioned addition taking away time from Duren. The "beat" laughed at fans saying Wiseman wasn't going to start and/or they can play together and/or it won't effect Duren minutes.
Well Duren averaged 28.3 min per game month leading up to trade, 21.7 min this month. Is no longer starting, Wiseman is. And it's been a disaster everytime the Pistons have tried two bigs.
Just wait until we draft Victor and don’t know what to do with our hands
How did wiseman shoot 4 for 15? Wtf
The team that was used today was absolutely pathetic. Starting a guy on a 10 day contract, a guy they recently picked up after being cut, Rodney McGruder and was led by the literal worst shooter in the league in terms of shooting % (and its not close) taking 21 shots. At least he made 10 this time. Two G League players got 20ish minutes off the bench. Just a clown show. NBA needs to address tanking, because it's ridiculous we get lineups like this with double digit games left still in the season.
Rockets doing God’s work for us
im not too concerned about the floor of 5 or 7. There are probably 4-5 different guys in that range right now. If we fall out of top 3 on lottery night it’s going to be a disappointing and just delay the rebuild even more.
Not sure if you know this, but Killian Hay3s is averaging 16 and 10 since March 11.
He's like the Rommel of our Tank Corps.
I hear the music in my head.
We’re not even hiding it
I remember a time this year where Killian actually hit 40% shooting for the season.
Beat still sticks up for him every game
Ah shit, Weaver is gonna go out and get more centers after seeing this
Roster full of poor shooting primary ball handling guards and centers. Nothing else
Weaver probably going to target Juwan Howard this off-season. Not only do they share a love of unbalanced rosters, but he adds to the list of centers on the payroll.
Duren is just a good basketball player and he hasn’t even tapped into full potential. Crazy that he’s the youngest guy in the league
I laughed way too hard at this entire sequence
Hayes has taken 674 shots this year, 3rd most on team. He has 626 points....
Burks off the bench for comparison has 652 pts on only 459 shots.
If we win the lottery we really need to thank Killian for carrying this tank.
His confident terribleness has really helped.
Wiseman having a game, and against Bam
We are currently two games clear of the Rockets for bottom of the standings. Hopefully we maintain that pace heading into Houston next week so we have some cushion.
They are 1-15 their last 16. Keep letting Killian run the offense and play 2 bigs together and start McGruder, I'm not sure we win another game let alone two.
You were in the wrong thread. But it's hilarious. Bragging about a guy in year 3 playing 35 minutes a night with ball in his hand every possession averaging 15 pts on 15 shot attempts a game and shooting 40%, and most of his makes are bunnies, he still isn't hitting shots (3-21 from 3 those 6 games). He's also averaging 4.33 TO/game those 6 games, which would lead NBA. And it's 6 games....absolute crickets from him the 20 games between the last time they told us he was great for 5 games
Nothing is ever Killian fault either with those guys. He has like 3 good plays in a row and then sits for a few minutes, it's automatically casey fault he misses his next 10 because Casey is messing with his confidence.
Hahahah I had no idea I was in the wrong thread.
yeah, it’s wild! I have seen some positives from him this year, but it’s wild how they try to pass this narrative when the kid still is shooting terribly.
I watched the 2nd half for some unknown reason...it's bad. At least Ivey had a good game.
Killian is the worst shooter in the NBA (not even hyperbole, statistically he is), yet they've allowed him to shoot 17 or more times a game in 4 of the last 8 games, over 10 shots in 7/8. He's the most confident awful shooter I've seen. My friend sent me a text calling him the "Tank Commander" tonight, and he really is leading this charge to the bottom
just cherish these last couple games because he won’t be around next year.
I have a hard time reading this team and the front office, but casey when he talks about Killian is usually positive and our beat has obviously been given marching orders to praise him every opportunity so I think he's going to be back. Now hopefully cade is healthy and "back" is limited minutes off bench. Casey needs to gtfo this offseason too. Make or break offseason for Weaver.
Pistons are 1-17 since Wiseman joined the team. Obviously that coincides somewhat with Boggy being shutdown, going with this disasterous double big lineup and Killian given keys to the team full reign, but what a culture shock for him going from GSW to this.....
Just turned the game on, and Killian bricked three 3 ‘s in like 2 minutes.
