I am no longer expecting to move to San Francisco, because the cost for a home is too much for my budget.
Lol at the replies to that tweet, the same fan base who was proposing Bs trades all month to get to one all convinced now Green is better now anyway
Maybe I’ll be proven wrong, but this feels like the NBA’s television partner trying to build interest in the draft.
It would be insane to make a different pick, wouldn't it? If you want ANYONE other than Cade, make a trade with Houston.
The Athletic had the Rockets beat writer and the Pistons beat writer try to work out a trade. They couldn't.
Mobley didn't even come meet with us. You're telling me this organization is still considering a guy who is snubbing coming in for a workout?
I think media is 1) trying to stir up drama for ratings and 2) confusing doing due dillegence with not making up your mind. Saw Valenti mention you have to check up on everyone else even if you are convinced with one guy because what if Cade got hit by a bus today? That's a little dramatic, but there are things that could happen that make it so you got to do your homework on everyone still
Woj isn't drumming it up for ratings. Woj and Weaver are boys. If Woj is putting this out there, it's because Weaver wants it out there. And there are some pretty obvious reasons why Weaver and the Pistons would want (or at least don't mind) this out there that have nothing to do with us not ultimately taking Cade.
I can't see a trade with OKC we would do either. They want to build around SGA and I'm not sure we'd do it without him. #6 pick you fall out of the elite guys this draft and they have a ton of future picks but we don't need a bunch of future picks (especially like mid to late rounders), we need high end players to go around the young role guys we already have
Yeah, the point of accumulating picks is to hope one of them wins the lottery (literally or by lucking into a Giannis or Kawhi) or to trade for a star. Why trade the winning lottery ticket away for more future lottery tickets?
I have a bad feeling Mobley isn't going to be near the level Cade is. And I think Green and Shai would be too similar potentially. I'd definitely consider it, it would be a strong offer for sure and more than fair, just not sure I'd personally do it
I saw someone tweet about how we could just chase SGA as an RFA next season. I am not sure that would work, but it makes sense. I am not as high on Mobley as MG2 but man that would be a hard deal to turn down. Hollinger today said he didnt think we were as interested in Mobley as other people are insinuating. No idea if he’s basing that on intel or reading the tea leaves about Mobley not visiting us. Regardless, if that’s true I am not sure a deal with OKC is even doable since we probably wouldn’t take Green and SGA.
I saw an interview with Casey where he said the Pistons will have the most cap room of any team next off season. If this young core shows some promise this year, we may be able to bring in someone pretty good in a loaded free agency class. Top guys aren't coming here, but we could find someone in that next level
Yes. I'd probably do it for the 4th pick, too. I wouldn't do it for SGA and Bouknight or Kuminga at 6.
Yes. Healthy year next season and he will be in the range of 3rd team All-NBA for a guard IMO. Just needs to improve his defense which will come when he isn’t the only focus on offense for OKC. Has all the tools to lock down other PGs.
For the record I really like Green and wouldn't surprise me if he had a great career too. If he was in last years class and we had #1 pick last year I'd probably take him. That said, I like cade more
Do you guys believe the reports? I feel like cade is a given 100% #1 pick and those articles are just trying to draw viewers but I could be wrong
I think Green will lead the league in scoring once and I long expected him to end up in Detroit at the #2 or 3
I don't think the articles are trying to draw viewers. I think the Pistons are trying to be secretive and make people guess what they're going to do. Why that is, I don't know yet.
Pulling these from the Tigers' thread, I think Cade might be the one who had the bad workout, in part because it doesn't sound like it was much of a workout. Several media types have said Green's workout was better than Cade's, and that Cade basically just did some shooting.
Well it doesn't shock me if Cade had worst in person workout. His athleticism isn't his main skill. I'm sure there would be other guys who look better in solo workouts. But I don't think that's the best way to judge Cades game
No. And if you read the reports, there hasn't been a single one suggesting we are taking anyone else. All are "such and such team wants to trade up" or "Pistons haven't decided for sure yet". No credible source actually thinks they are going to do anything beside take Cade that I've seen
My fear with Mobley is he’s a California kid that played college hoops in LA. I just assume he will be be a Laker or Clipper at the first opportunity.
KOC mock has the Pistons drafting 4 college guys. If they actually make 4 picks, aren't they more likely do 1 or 2 draft-and-stash overseas guys?
