Wait, these tournament games also count in the 82 game standings? Fuck I really didn't pay attention to the press release on it
Apparently Killian and Cade just need the high stakes of a tournament and/or me not watching to play well
I didn't think a tournament would also count as not a tournament. I actually watch European soccer which is what this tournament is supposedly based off, those don't count towards the clubs regular season. They also aren't all against the same teams. It's just so dumb on so many levels
It's just a way to incentivize the regular season. I'm for whatever it takes to make regular season games more watchable.
Ivey is still sick with swine flu and doesn't play Cade scores 28/7/6 but has 6 to and shoots 40% so half the fan base will tweet about his great stats while others call him a bust Ausar does everything beside shoot Killian scores 14 and has 5 ast and his fans act like that's an insane stat line and praise him and tell everyone they were right (while Haliburton drops 30/12 in his next game) Just another night in Pistons land
Marvin Bagley has the greatest job in all of sports. Gets paid $12M a year. Doesn't even pretend to try on defense. Clogs everything up for everyone else on offense trying to post up. And just gets to shoot every time he touches it no matter where he is without even looking for someone to pass to. Just watch his pick and roll defense when he's in the game. He just stands in the middle of the paint with his hands at his side retreating until he's under the rim and the dribbler either walks into a three or drives in for a lay-up. Every time.
I think we have airballed at least 4 jumpers, missed 2 dunks, multiple other lay-ups, and Cade hasn't been close on any of his 4 attempts and looks afraid to shoot right now as Chicago is on a 20-2 run.
Pistons went from up 10 to down 8 in 6 minutes of game time Ivey and Burks are back tonight When is Weaver going to feel any sort of heat. This team is garbage
If they really wanted to send a message you need to earn your minutes, next game neither of our starting guards are out there for first quarter
It's almost like Monty is so stubborn on proving his shit lineup works he refuses to make any adjustments even when it clearly isn't working. Starting 5 gets first 10 min of 2nd half Now Cade 27 min -14, Killian 21 min -13, Ivey just 5 min and a +9
the team sucks man, and won’t be good any time soon. Weaver is Avila 2.0. Don’t let the slappies like MG2 tell you otherwise. difference with Weaver is the media guys like Edwards love him, and would get down on their knees for him. So you won’t hear anything negative about him. 60 losses is happening this year.
https://stathead.com/basketball/ver...024&player_id1=cunnica01&player_id2=hayeski01 I’m not super into advanced stats but Killian seems to be having a better season than Cade, no? WS/48 at .081 vs -.039. PER 11.9 vs 10.7
Valenti today asked when he can launch Troy Weaver out of a cannon... maybe some more pressure will mount on this team. Also pistons Twitter is insane. Everyone just like certain players and wants to tweet about how that player is actually good and "this guy is playing well", yet no one ever really puts pressure on the team or Weaver for being terrible overall. Just so wrapped up in being right about their guy
I'm honestly over the whole debate over which guard is better or should play between all of our guards, because end of the day the focus should be on how none of them are good enough to make that answer easy and we should question the person who brought them all together
Weaver seems to be a solid judge of talent but he has absolutely no idea how to build a team. I’m not going to get into an argument about whether Cade is good or not, because I don’t care enough either way. But when I do get a chance to watch the Pistons it’s embarrassing how he’s constantly guarded by several players at any one time because there is literally no other threat to on the floor. Even if Bojan were healthy, does it truly change much about the current roster? He and Burks are just bandaids anyway. They aren’t long term pieces, and once they are gone, do we think Weaver is actually going to fill those spots with adequate replacements?
1. Tank for x 2. Get a pass because the roster is young 3. Don't do anything with cap space and talk about how much more cap space you'll have the next year I have no faith in pistons breaking that cycle any time soon
I’m not intending to debate it - they’ve all been disappointing. Cade is a walking turnover that can’t shoot. Killian is a non-factor when it comes to putting the ball in the basket. Ivey can’t defend. Maybe one of Cade or Ivey can step up and be “the guy” but it feels like we’ve got a team of future #2s and 3s without the #1 guy
Yea that's my point, when the fan base is arguing which starting guard is less bad, it's a bigger indictment on the team being shit than anything else
I lost all faith when I saw our win total for the year was expected to be like 29 games and the second worst record in the league. I dont follow this shit, but couldnt believe that was real. Avila 2.0 with no real promise on someone to score the basketball either.
I do think Ausar is good so there is that. Would be much more enjoyable if we didn’t have several other players who are equally terrible shooters.
Yeah, I dig he and Duren. I would like Cade a lot more if he wasnt a #1 pick and needing a lot more out of him than what we are getting in year 3.
Someone on Reddit posted that since we traded Bey last year we have won four games lol. Apparently it’s true.
Lavine would solve the “get the ball in the basket” issue but I don’t think he’s a real solution here
