Is he suggesting it would be bad if we were interested in LaVine? Because I'd be kind of annoyed if we weren't. We should at least make the call to see what the price is. I don't want to give up first a bunch of future 1s for him, but we also can't currently do that so it kind of limits the dumb things we could do there.
It's kind of hilarious watching other teams have no respect for this team and overload Cade. Announce crew won't stop talking about it, but Cade has got a few clean looks and missed those too and is visibly frustrated. He's clearly letting this get to him. He's got to figure something out. I don't know what else Ivey could do to earn more minutes. He's been better than both starters Ausar looks amazing again though
Fucking hell Killian. All day to shoot to take lead and no one nearby, not only do you put foot on line so it's a long 2 instead of 3 but still brick it
Don't know why Ivey isn't out there right now. Only one who seems to be able to create his own offense right now. Cade going to miss contested drives and Killian going to brick open shots and we will see the deficit grow...
Agreed. I get the tough love bit where you want to get him to play a certain way, but nights like this when he's legitimately been good you have to reward that and let him play. I don't get it.
Another game pistons play a team without their best player, another loss. This is early 2000s tigers and late 2000s lions as worse teams in the city history
Cade : 4 for 14, 6 turnovers, 9 points. Missed his last 4 shots in clutch time. Unlike the spin zone MG2 has been telling us, he only had 1 guy guarding him. BUST
Cade and Killian and that starting lineup has been such a disaster, it also kind of worries me Monty has not tried other combinations to see if it helps at all. Just the same thing happening over and over
All my pistons following comes via this thread and looking at box scores, has anyone in the spineless media actually asked him point blank about this? At what point does it stop being "sending a message" and turn into being blatantly stupid and malpractice? When you sit guys trying to motivate them to play better, but then don't reward them when playing better then the message is totally lost and so is the player.
It’s a legitimate conundrum though. Play the way Monty wants to play (good at the game in general) vs who can play one on one offensively. Cade and Killian would be fantastic if they were average shooters. Ivey would be playing if he wasn’t an ISO scorer that can’t defend. The lineup of Cade/Killian/Ausar/Stewart/C has skill but no one that can get a bucket when they need it. I don’t think Killian will ever be able to score. I hope Cade can become more efficient. If Ausar can ever score outside of 5 ft and Stewart can speed up his release on 3s this team might hit their 30 win goal
I'd actually count it as 4-32 because they also lost 2 games on 12th and 15th while that trade was pending
What pissed me off more than the Killian miss was that Killian put his foot on the line. But what pissed me off even more than that was that a lob to Bagley was right there for the taking. Poor decision to pass it to the worst shooter
Watching that play live it seemed like Killian was very confused. He pretty clearly didn’t understand why he had the ball. That’s what I’m attributing the shuffling feet to
Apparently fixing the rotation is going to amount to playing Stew at 5, ausar at 4 and starting Knox. That'll have a big impact I'm sure....
The worst part about this is Williams seems absolutely terrible. We are stuck with this guy for so long.
I mean we have a coach that in the middle of an embarrassing losing streak is refusing to tweak the lineup.
There's truth in what he's saying in the sense that we're not getting beaten by 20 in most of these games. We're generally in the games to at least some degree. But you kind of lose that premise when you've lost 10 straight and pretty much every one of them has the same script that hasn't improved in any way during that stretch. I would feel differently if this was a team that was just figuring out ways to lose games differently and needed to put it together. This is a team that has fatal flaws that kill them in every game they play.
Jam3s hasn’t tweeted since halftime. I assume he’s busy working on an article about how Killian is our MVP.
What sucks the most is when we fire Weaver Monty is going to have SVG level power. If we end up with anything worth a shit it’ll get traded for vets to ensure we get to the Play In games.
