Bad team, bad pick, but you go ahead do the mental gymnastics needed to defend it. But not really, just kinda sorta without taking an actual position on anything
The draft wasn't deep after the top 10 or 11 picks. Everyone said that. I don't know if Kennard was a good or bad pick. He hasn't played a game yet. If he "can't get run" it is very likely to be a function of them paying $13M a year to backup guards. If we're going to criticize SVG for anything if Kennard isn't in the rotation, it's for setting up a scenario where he won't have to play him even if he's better than the players getting paid more money. It's something SVG has done 3 years in a row. He doesn't like playing rookies, and this is just another example of it.
It's you. He's lost weight this offseason. That video is from the Drew League and he's just bigger than everyone else on the floor.
YEs a good shooter. I'd say he is an athletic stretch 4. Good rebounder and OK shot blocker, unlike a lot of stretch 4s. Showed very little to no ability to create off the dribble unless he had an open path to the paint. His ceiling is pretty low, I suspect this ends up just being one of them training camp type contracts.
Not a fan of this at all... The Detroit Pistons announced today that Flagstar Bank will be the sponsor represented on their jerseys this coming season. View image on Twitter Follow Darren Rovell ✔@darrenrovell JUST IN: The @DetroitPistons have signed @flagstar to be the team's jersey ad sponsor. 8:30 AM - 26 Jul 2017 229229 Retweets 266266 likes Twitter Ads info and privacy The NBA decided to put sponsors on the jerseys this season as a way to boost revenue. However, there are some regulations on how the patches fit on the jerseys. According to Bailey Brautigan of Forbes magazine, “All patches will be 2.5 square inches or smaller, and all deals will be structured as three-year trial periods…” We can now say goodbye to the NBA uniform as we know it. This is the first step in a what seems to be more sponsorships placed on uniforms; hopefully, the rest of professional sports don’t follow suit. You can see the rest of the NBA’s sponsors here. What do you think Nation, do you like the placed ads on the Pistons jersey?
Don't really care on how it looks. But it sucks that it won't benefit the fans in any way, and that the Pistons are taking public money through the stadium/practice facility deal.
Don't care. Apparently, Nike will sell jerseys with or without the advertiser patch so fans who want ad free jerseys can still buy them.
In case you were wondering "whatever happened to Darko?" http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/st...-darko-milicic-finds-success-back-home-serbia
I'm stupid for falling for the camp stuff, but I really like what I've been reading about the team overall, and Drummond in particular. Not buying the FT stuff until he does it consistently when it matters, but I SVG seems happy with him. I'm still confused as to all these positive stories about Reggie considering he apparently never scrimmaged and barely played over the summer, though.
Drummond is 10 of 12 from the FT line so far this preseason. It won’t last. Seems like Ellenson is playing well though.
So wat the hell is the rotation this year? PG: Jackson, Ish SG: Bradley, Galloway, Kennard SF: Johnson, Bullock PF: Harris, Leuer, Ellenson C: Drummond, Boban That’s a 12 man rotation which seems unlikely. I assume Harris plays a lot of SF while Leuer plays some C, which gives Ellenson a chance at decent minutes but I don’t see how Kennard gets much run.
I've been really surprised that Kennard got the start the last two games with Bradley out. That would seem to be a good sign for him getting minutes over Galloway, but it wouldn't surprise me the other way. I'm interested to see how they handle Leuer and Boban. Boban is going to be a defensive liability, but his offense can be so good in short bursts. For all the love SVG is showering on Ellenson, I would be surprised if he's in the rotation (barring injury). I'm also really hopeful that SVG finally gives Bullock 15-20 consistent minutes to see what he has. We're one of the worst outside shooting teams in the league. He's a really good outside shooter. It doesn't seem like him getting minutes should be hard, but he's barely played the last 2 years.
God, that roster is garbage. Burn it to the ground. Give Ellenson all of Leuer's minutes. How does Leuer even make money playing basketball. Trade Boban for a popcorn machine.
The roster was built around the idea of Drummond and Jackson hitting their ceilings and being the two best players on the team. If they do that, the roster is pretty good, IMO. We're running out of time for that to happen, though. I like the early returns on Drummond this preseason, but Jackson is still a massive wild card.
jackson is trash. If I had to pick between him and Drummond, I'd keep Drummond. SVG probably only has 1 more year to right the ship, although it looks, like he is tight with Gores.
Reggie Jackson is a glorified scrub. If that was the plan, then the coaches and front office dont belong in basketball.
For the record Id keep 3 or 4 of those guys and do whatever possible to get rid of the rest and start over. That team isn't even fun to watch, and Im having a harf time figuring out how anyone thinks they could win with that trash heap.
It's tough to watch with all these red seats. Wish they would have gone with a more neutral seat color. Or just have fans come to the games, so you can't notice on TV
That was a good performance for 4 quarters. The ball moved well. Drummond and Reggie didn't try to do too much. More of that this season, please.
