Can I get a real time score update from when this post was sent until now? Because I feel like you posting something nice broke something and now the game is getting closer.
Drummond finished 14-16 from the line and is up to 78% for the season. If he can stay above 50% that's a massive win. I'm still waiting for the free fall, though.
He definitely has a different form this year. He sticks his arms out further in front of his body when he releases the ball. Doesn't necessarily look better, but so far it is working.
It's definitely different. Not sure it's helped him shoot it more consistently or just gives him more touch, but I hope he sticks with it. Last year he was a little better than previous years at the start, and then just stopped doing his new routine for some reason and went further into the tank.
LCA is nice. Not sure that it’s revolutionary, but it’s a nice enough place to see a game. Plenty of empty seats, but it got loud in there a few times. Re: the pistons, they really move the ball well & space the floor. I think they’re solid. Seeing Giannis in person was pretty cool. He’s not from this planet.
Between the location and tickets being cheap/easy to get the clientele is drastically different than it was at the Palace. With how racially polarized metro Detroit is, I wonder how much that factors into the empty arena versus the team not being exciting.
Kid Rock and Red Wings yes, Pistons not so much. There was a lot more people that would be viewed as stereotype "ghetto" black people than there seemed to be at the palace. Sadly in an area as polarized as Metro Detroit even the perception of a ghetto crowd will keep the suburbanites away
I think there's some of that going on with suburban people not necessarily following the team back down to detroit. It was noticeably diverse last night.
If they keep winning, people will slowly start to show up. I remember buying season tickets for the Pistons back in 05. The palace as selling out almost every night, I only bought them to try to flip a profit on stubhub. I think I made a little money when it was all said and done, but those days are long gone.
I think Kennard can be a good player, but that one never made sense to me. SVG talks about defense constantly, and then passes on a potentially great defender for one who hopes to be average one day. Mitchell also had the added bonus of potentially being a solution to the Reggie Jackson problem down the road.
Love the way we're playing. Reggie hasn't changed at all in the last 5 minutes of games, unfortunately. We run good offense for 43-45 minutes, and then he just dribbles the ball for 20 seconds before taking bad shots down the stretch. If SVG ever gets that out of him, I think we can win a series (depending on the match-up). If he can't, he's going to be the guy who holds us back.
Just Win Baby! Turning point in the game is when Bradley hit back to back 3's in the 3rd down 11 to cut the heat lead to 5.
Why does the NBA ban players from kneeling then? Stan is in the minority. Kapernick is a piece of shit.
Questions is, when will the fans start showing up? I think Pistons will need to be top 3 in the east by mid season for LCA to look at least 70% full.
Once they lower the prices. Nobody from the burbs is going to go down there during the week. Their only hope is getting the corporate crowd. Weekends should be able to get a decent crowd though.
