Agreed. This Chicago team is abysmal (though somehow they just smashed Ottawa), and we look lifeless, hard to watch.
Yep. And Fabbri was one of the few guys that showed a spark. That injury isn’t going to help morale if it’s serious.
Despite how good Kasper and Wallinder have been this season, Rogle hasn’t been great. They start a best of three series next week that could be the end of their season. If that occurs, I do wonder if we bring Kasper and Wallinder over, let them get acclimated and then at least get Kasper some games.
Absolutely. No need to play in the SHL anymore. What about Champions League though? Where are they at in that?
They haven't done that with any of our other SHL guys so I wouldn't imagine them here until camp next year
Brattstrom got hurt for GR last night, and by all accounts it’s a fairly serious injury. If that’s the case, Lethemon from Toledo will be up in GR for the rest of the season, leaving the keys to Cossa until the Playoffs (and possibly beyond if he’s playing well)
Red Wings just out played the Bruins in 5 of last 6 periods. They will win the Stanley Cup next season. - James Edwards if he were hockey gear writer
The World Championships are in May and with Covid running amok the last three years, there is a decent chance this year could see a lot more NHL participation than normal. With that being the case, it’ll be interesting to see if some of our younger guys get an opportunity to participate. Kasper should be a lock for Austria, and depending on what happens with Sweden, I could see Edvinsson getting a shot to make its roster. Even Mazur has an outside shot to play for the US. I’d guess the following Wings players participate: Seider Raymond Larkin Copp Kubalik Zadina Kasper Likely go if teams have to work further down their lists Berggren Walman Edvinsson Mazur
Last night was a big loss for the tank. We currently sit 10th, but our schedule is ridiculous to end the season. That’s great because there is little separation from 10-13 at this time, and with the new lottery system, we have to be at least ten to at least dream of Bedard. We have Colorado and Florida next, and then a massive back to back with the Blues who currently sit 9. If we drop both games to St. Louis, there is a great shot at us moving up to 9. Vancouver is also playing well, so 8 isn’t out of the realm of possibility. In hindsight the spending this summer wasn’t ideal but it probably doesn’t change much, as the teams from 1-7 are just so bad that even if we didn’t add anyone in July, we would still be better than those teams.
Edvinsson has been so smooth the first ten minutes of this game. He just has that look to him that he’s going to be a stud.
Haven't been able to watch but see Hana glowing about Edvinsson on Twitter. Is he really playing that well?
I'd rather the wings win the lottery this year than the pistons because Bedard would sure turn up the pace of this rebuild. I think he's that type of player. Wings Could really use some lottery luck after years of being fucked
A recently turned 20 year old defenseman playing in his first NHL game against the defending Stanley cup champs and not looking out of place at all is a very good sign.
That league sucks ass. Need to promote him to challenge him. Toledo’s other goalie has like a 30-1 record with a 1.9 GAA
Big week for the tank coming up. We need Florida to beat us because we want them in the playoffs over the Islanders, but man would dropping both to the Blues be sweet. I don’t think we go 0-4 this week, but if we did, it would give us an outside shot of sixth best lottery odds.
Zadina isn't what we all expected, but if we can get another seider or edvinsson, 6th pick doesn't look too bad. Wings really are due for some lottery luck. They have to be (spoiler they won't)
Honestly the nightmare scenario is Buffalo or Ottawa getting the 11th best odds and winning the lottery. At this point it’s possible both teams are inside the top 11.
18* wins. He’s also 6 years older than Cossa with 4 years of college hockey and a number of years of pro on top of it.
Gudas takes a swipe at Berggren and there is zero response from the Wings. That’s the shit that annoys me. If this team isn’t going to be good, at least stand up for one another.
