Anyone got video of that tripping call. Trying to send it to a friend who missed it. May be the worst penalty call I've ever seen
The team has four wins despite playing unsustainably bad hockey. The goaltending will level out, but banking wins at least gives the team some hope.
Yeah there’s no chance we continue to shoot below 10% so things should be getting better as that normalizes.
Last year was incredible shooting percentage, this year it's goalie play. We keep finding ways to win some games early but it has never been due to a complete performance.
I'm going to preface this with its not all his fault and I'm not blaming him entirely, but my God would I love to watch a team playing in a system other than the one Lalonde is attempting to run here. I can't keep watching this
Our top offensive guys are Larkin, Raymond, Kane, DeBrincat. We really shouldn’t expect much in the physical areas of the offensive zone.
“We had a great first,” Kane said. “When we’re playing hungry like that, on top of them, excited to play with the puck, not thinking about defending, instead just taking it to them … and we got to get that more in our game, especially when we have a lead. Throughout this year we’ve seen it multiple times where we have a lead and we’re just kind of playing defense and it’s just tough to defend like that all the time. It wears on you. It’s tough on you energy-wise. It’s so much easier to play offensively with the puck in their end, offensive possession. So, we got to get that a little bit more in our game.” Second time this season Kane has made these types of comments. He’s not wrong at all but I am not sure what he was expecting having been here part of last season.
Needed to clear a roster spot and gain some cap flexibility. Opens spot for Johansson and i think makes it more likely Kasper stays up when Motte returns
Trade Detroit had to make. Solid value back, as well. Johansson shouldn’t leave the lineup at this point — see what can do. Steve is hopefully scouring for other D to add. It’s easier said than done but making preparations for next season now would be great.
They suck ass, but at least they are making the right moves imo. Waiving Holl, waiving Husso, calling up Kasper, trading Maata. A departure from keeping Ed in GR for a whole season because we didn't want to make some of these uncomfortable moves. Obviously the more damning thing is that we were put in this situation to begin with, progress that we're just not gritting our teeth and maintaining the status quo.
Walman was terrible last year and obviously something happened to trade him for nothing but he’s having a fantastic season playing for a shitty team. Very much a bummer.
