Think it's about impossible when our coaches strategy is literally to go into a shell when we get a lead. Only real way is we go down 1-0 early and have to carry game and don't come back until end
Becher was our third rounder from last season. Overager who had been hurt. Hope he gets a chance to stick in GR because he has loads of talent.
This offensive showing so far is absolutely embarrassing. Chicago’s defense is so bad and we can’t get anything on net.
The new season of Fortnite came out a few days before that game. I truly believe that’s a large part of the issue.
Best U22 KHL seasons of all-time? 1. Vladimir Tarasenko: 14+18=32 in 31 games. 1.08 PPG 2. Dmitri Buchelnikov: 7+14=21 in 23 games. .91 PPG 3. Kirill Kaprizov: 30+21=51 in 57 games. .89 PPG Pretty elite company
Holl in for Petry tonight which is justified with how bad Petry played Wednesday. Lyon is also day to day with a lower body injury so Talbot is starting again with Husso getting an emergency call up to be the backup.
Team is improving as year goes on. But this group has been pretty notoriously hot and cold that last few years
Dante Fabbro was put on waivers by Nashville. I think others below us in the standings will claim him but we should be trying to land him.
Yzerman and Lalonde both need to go. Time to start fresh and get somebody else to finish off this 10 year rebuild. Danielson shaping up to be an awful draft pick. He’s not doing shit in the AHL.
a point every 3 games is awful. Go look up the guy taken right after him. danielson couldn’t dominate the OHL that he repeated 3 times
If there is one positive to this season so far, it’s that there are some prospects making pretty large leaps for us. Cossa - He’s arguably the best goalie in the AHL. He needs to stay consistent all year, playing 50+ games (including playoffs) but he is on track to be our #2 next season. ASP - Still has some weakness in his game but the offense is as advertised. I don’t think he has a shot to make next years roster but he should be in the AHL, and potentially see some action in Detroit later next season. Lombardi - Currently has 8 points in 12 games in GR. That’s no small feat considering GR isn’t a great offensive team. Most importantly he is holding up on the ice despite his frame. He won’t be a center in the NHL but he’s a guy showing top nine wing potential. Kiiskinen - 16 points in 18 games in Finland. The league isn’t as strong as it once was but that’s a great pace for a 19 year old. Should play a big role for Finland in the WJC. Another guy that I think is showing bottom six potential. Buchelnikov - Having a great year in Russia. Biggest question is still his size and how he can hold up in North America. He’s a guy that likely could skip the AHL with a good camp once he comes over. Again, top nine potential forward but maybe the highest upside offensively of any of our forwards. Finnie - On pace for 100 points in the WHL, which would almost double his total last year. More importantly, he’s a 7th round pick that is being speculated as possible member of the Canadian WJC team. That’s pretty unheard of for a guy with his draft position. Lots to like here. Getting a hit or two from these four would help tremendously going forward.
This team desperately needs mid/late round picks to hit. For the roster and for trades. These four guys actually have offensive upside. That’s the difference between what we have now.
Tonight is as important of a November game as you can play right now. Pittsburgh has been very bad lately and completely shit the bed against Dallas last time out. They have already started trading guys to churn the roster. Losing tonight would be rough.
Watching some highlights of the 02 and 08 runs (wow I feel old) and Holmstrom was so so good. Incredible puck retrieval skills, shielded the puck well, and we all know about his net front skills... Despite his skating he was such a great hockey player
Love hearing that we scored a good half a second before actually seeing how. Get your shit together, TNT.
