Play started with a dirty hit by their player and they ended up with 3 min of PP time v our 2 and their 3 is a full 3 (doesn't end with goal).
I assume DeKesyer was the one that yelled leave it. If so, he should feel shame after getting stripped.
Our lack of high end centers killed us in that third period. It’s going to be brutal if Larkin is out an extended period of time.
It was a fun game against the defending Champs and we are a bad team and our best player is hurt and other best player got kicked out half way through so ill take it for now despite it being a lot more fun 20 minutes ago. Team isn't good, but they should be more entertaining this year as they keep rebuild going
Defense pair of Leddy and Seider looked solid, but the other 4 let him out to dry quite a few times. There was an overhead shot of one play on replay where two lightning players got in front of net with puck and neither defender was in camera shot
A few thoughts from the shitter 1. Seider and Raymond were good last night. They will have growing pains, but neither guy looked out of place. To that end, Adam Erne can’t be on the PP with Raymond. Raymond needs more skill around him than Erne provides because he’s so crafty with the puck that he can create for anyone at any moment. I would make Bertuzzi the bumper on that line and put Rasmussen down low. 2. Bertuzzi was awesome. He’s also a distraction and the sooner we trade him, the better. This performance shouldn’t cloud that fact. 3. Hronek and DeKeyser were bad. Real bad. DeKeyser is done, and Hronek shouldn’t be logging all that ice time. I thought Lindstrom was our third best D last night, and I wouldn’t hate the idea of putting him on his off hand as Hronek’s partner. 4. We have some talent, but we are going to be a middling team until we get another C. I hate paying UFA, but if we don’t win the lottery, we might need to look at investing in Hertl. 5. Ned played pretty well last night, but was left out to dry by our PK. DeKeyser was a big reason for that IMO. 6. If Larkin is going to continue to get run, we need to replace Smith with a heavy that can play. Pat Maroon or Kyle Clifford would fit that bill, but both are vets that want rings. I don’t want to see more plugs in the lineup, but we clearly need a better deterrent out there at this point.
Raymond looked good early, but just like with preseason seemed to dissappear once he wasn't playing with Larkin. Hope Larkin isn't out long Also luckily we have a ton of D prospects who should be able to compete in next year or two for roster spots because that area still needs a ton of improvement. I really like Leddy and Seider together but outside that, woof
