Haha thats a weird deleted tweet. It was about how Cabrera had base hits in 7 straight plate appearances and was from Tigers PR official twitter Edit, apparently they deleted it and made a new tweet for some reason
It’s probably Tommy John so that means he’s getting non tendered. Not a bad thing. Use that $8 million on a different arm.
Fire both of these clowns. As the product is getting better on the field, you can’t be trotting out these pieces of shit in the broadcast booth
Also they fired Mario and Rod for a "fight" that later interviews sound like didn't even involve any physical contact. But they bring him back after a course and a pre written apology he read where he is sorry people perceived it a certain way and were offended
I definitely didn't have the Tigers winning 70 games this year. Certainly not with 16 games to play. Getting to 76-77 wins the way the roster looked in April would be fantastic. Picking 11 right now in the 2022 draft.
11-5 finish would be awesome and only cost us 3-4 spots in the draft. Pretty unlikely we're drafting any higher than 10 unless we completely collapse.
Alex Avila is retiring. Sounds like he's going to have a lot of options, but I wonder if we add him to the coaching staff this offseason. We have at least 2 openings already and I would think we'll be trying to add him to the org in some way.
“but I wonder if we add him to the coaching staff this offseason” can you not read? He even referenced the two openings in our current staff
"I wonder if" = coaching staff. "I would think we'd" = some capacity. I know that your weird MG2 boner causes you to stop reading, but try harder.
You realize that every ex-player that transitions to coaching starts somewhere, right? And ex-catchers who's careers lasted much longer than their skills are the most likely pool of candidates. Even if his Dad WASN'T the GM, there's nothing outrageous about that speculation. But you do you.
no kidding you stupid fuck. They usually start in the minors in some capacity and work their way up. Since reading is fucking hard for you , he referenced the two openings on the roster (MLB roster), and suggested we could add him to the coaching staff. you got all bent out of shape when I laughed at the idea (which isn’t realistic).
Stat is a little skewed because Haase has played some OF too, but our Catchers this season have 41 Home Runs. Haase 22, Rogers, Ramos and Garnau all 6 each, Greiner 1
Wasn't anticipating that debate. I think if Avila wants to get into coaching and wants an MLB job, there's chance he'd get one on a MLB staff. Maybe it's too early for that, but it's not unprecedented or anything and he seems very highly regarded. Maybe that's dead wrong, but I don't think he's going to have to coach in the minors somewhere if he doesn't want to.
From Kiley on prospects who have moved up in his eyes this season... Detroit Tigers Riley Greene, CF Greene was my preseason pick to click for a player I expected to perform his way into the top 10 of the 2021 list, so it shouldn't be that surprising that he's done it, moving from 25th to seventh in the midseason list. He still exceeded my expectations this spring, with power (52 extra-base hits), patience (11% walks), defense (still solid in center field) at Double-A and Triple-A, all while just 20 years old. Greene is more than a year younger than Spencer Torkelson, with superior defensive value and has outperformed him at the same levels this year, something even I wouldn't have expected. RHP Reese Olson (plus stuff, probably not a true starter) was rising in the Brewers' system before he was acquired this summer for Daniel Norris. 3B Colt Keith, an over-slot 2020 fifth-rounder out of a Mississippi high school, had the tools to be a quick mover but performed even better than I expected as a teenager at low-A.
