This team is the opposite of the "every time I think I'm out they pull me back in" meme. Every time I even consider they might be a decent watch, they do this and remind me I need to find other things to do.
Tork had a .231 BABIP on May 2nd. Since then: Not exciting for a #1 overall pick, but not a complete disaster. He's terrible at Comerica this year - not a friendly park for RH power.
just needs more consistency. if Carpenter can prove to be a 25+ homer guy, should have a decent core here. Still need to add 1 or 2 bats in free agency, and get a new SS
Never been a big Meadows believer, but he's been really productive the last three months: Toledo is a tough place to hit, especially home runs, looking at last year's park factors (don't have this years). Meadows has been better on the road with the .842 season road OPS: Hopefully, Meadows has a better major league career than I've been expecting. He's #11 on the Tigers Baseball America mid-season prospect list, so they're pretty tepid on him.
Next year could be kind of fun if it’s some combination of: Green Tork Kerry Keith Meadows Baez Rodgers Jung JHM With badoo/veirling as utility
Can’t believe Avila thought he was slick thinking Tork can play 3rd base. He can’t even fucking play 1st adequately.
All 5 pitches to Meadows were balls. He got a shitty call on that third strike but he shouldn’t have been swinging at the other ones to start.
He's also coming from robot umps, which are more precise on the corners and that last one definitely wouldn't have been called a strike in the minors.
The amount of cubs fans at this game is giving me flashbacks to when Tigers fans uses to pack Wrigley back when we didn’t suck ass.
Keith hits some monster HRs for someone who up until the middle of last season wasn't really considered much of a power hitter.
Yeah Meadows seems fun. If the power is legit, the combo of power/speed with elite centerfield defense would definitely play
