Hey Vinegar, the guys in the top 100 are as follows: 5. Jobe 25. Clark 26. McGonigle 67. Jung 90. Hamm meanwhile, guys that smarter than you Harris passed on in the draft last year: Jenkins is #6, and Wyatt Langford would have 2nd highest OPS on the team. enjoy your 4th
Our payroll is 117 million. That is 4th lowest in mlb. According to sportac 9 million of that is retained salary from Miggy and ERod contracts. Another 61.5 mil of that is used on a terrible SS that should be cut, a SP who should be DFA, a OF/1B with a sub .670 ops and hitting under .200 for the last month+, a backup catcher and two BP arms that have 4+ eras. That's 70 mil of our already terribly low 117 mil salary going to pieces that aren't helping and in a lot of cases hurting the team. That figure is going to be even more distorted when we trade Flaherty.
I wonder if he got the gig because he agreed to Illitch’s condition of not spending. One President of Baseball Ops contract and he’s prob set for life.
Not that crazy when you only have 3 players signed to guaranteed contracts beyond this season (not counting Mize's team option we won't pick up at this point).
He's not the first to complain about our hitting coaches. Gotta think they are partly to blame. Lack of talent is biggest issue, but it's amazing how everyone can't hit when they get here
I would rather have Langford, but totally fine with having Clark and McGonigle. McGonigle is really interesting and a good middle infielder would really be a great find for this rebuild. Max Clark's last 150 PAs at A+ are pretty encouraging. Drawing walks, not striking out too much. Power hasn't been great, but he's young and constantly facing older players.
Thanks, all the league level changes suck after so long following the old system. I'm ready for no more Carlos Pena in the booth ever again.
Weins was a senior who signed for cheap and is older than Riley Greene. He's currently mediocre in low A ball as an almost 24 year old.
i don’t trust Harris in any trade, but if they can get a haul similar to what the Nats got for Soto, you have to consider it.
