I was listening to game on radio in the car and they were making it sound like the home plate ump was having an absolute stinker with his strike calls tonight on stuff that's not even close to being a strike
Looking forward to him bringing his 40% strikeout rate in AAA back to Detroit. Looks like he learned a lot down there
I'm OK calling Tork back up. Being in aaa does nothing with him at this point. He's had time to try and figure it out there. Sink or swim time. Unfortunately one option seems much more likely, but at least now you can say you gave him that last chance. It's also not like he's blocking anyone else playing
McKinstry still survives....how have we called up 3 players in 2 days, including a SS, and he's still here and playing?
The sample size isn't large so maybe he would suck if given the job, but IMO Alex Avila is far and away the best analyst they've put on Bally the last few years and should get that job full time if he wants it.
Yankees always make you throw a lot of pitches and they get the benefit of the doubt from the umpire.
Get a runner thrown out at home on a horrendous send, and then back it up the next inning with your catcher being lazy and handing them a run.
