Mize is just short of qualifying for era leaderboard, but if he was qualified he'd have the 7th best era in the al and 12th best in mlb amongst sp
Good news : top of the order is up in 9th to try and get an insurance run Bad news : top of the order is Vierling and Sweeney
got Keith on bench. Imagine he gets to swing. Meadows probably defensive replacement in bottom of inning.
I watch every Mize start. I've known him and his family for a long time. I know it's been a less than ideal career for a #1 overall guy, but he's seemingly starting to figure it out. Today he was more like he was in college and really moved his fastball around and finally kept it in the top of the zone early and late in the count. His splitter was good, but the slider and curve were both pretty bad. He also showed emotion when he struck out Jones to end the 6th. I've said for a while that he's better when he let's a little emotion show. Anyway, good win and seeing Mize at 9-2 with a 2.63 before the all-star break is awesome.
Huge game today boys. Need to win with Skubal on mound. 4-2 road trip Pretty much finish finish Cleveland in the central Maintain our 1.5 lead for top seed in the AL Stay on target to first team to 60 wins
Sounds like Enns time has come to an end. Montero would be in line to start tomorrow or get bulk innings behind an opener.
Montero two Toledo appearances since we sent him down 8.1 ip 9 h 6 bb 7 er Not inspiring confidence in a call back up
I listened to the inning he was in the booth with the Apple TV guys that game and he wasn’t hiding that he was a Tigers fan. Mentioned it a ton and the Cardinals hit a couple HRs off the Guardians during the inning and he was happy.
It’s random because there are no local pro teams in Omaha. But fandom is generally split between the KC teams, Chicago teams, Minnesota teams, Denver teams and Packers fans. My dad (a Cubs fan) was on a slow pitch softball team with his college buddies named the Dorx and their jerseys used the Olde English D and most of them had Tigers hats to match the jersey. I went to their softball games all the time so I had a Tigers hat too. Had the hat so started to root for the team. I also was drawn to underdogs/hated bandwagon jumpers as a kid (almost every kid was a Bulls fan back then) and they aligned nicely there, too.
This is reminding me of this game against the Royals at the end of May: https://www.espn.com/mlb/boxscore/_/gameId/401695773
We come off a series where our offense looked great and pitching staff imploded to one where our staff looks great and our offense can't do shit
