Boyd isn't getting dropped from the rotation. Maybe they skip him, but they love Boyd and won't replace him in the rotation.

Boyd is trash. Ranks 49/50 in WAR since 6/1/19 among qualified pitchers. Can’t believe Avila thought he’d get Gaybar Torres for him.

 

I don't like the articles popping up suggesting trading for someone to replace Cron. Unless a team basically wants to give away a guy, we should not be getting rid of any prospects for an old 1B

Depends who it is. We will need a 1b next year, and our prospects outside the top 10 really aren’t that great.

 

Moreland and Belt are the names popping up in articles. Would be buying high on a 30+ year old 1b or Belt who is 32. I'd rather extend Cron than give up a prospect for one of those.

 

I'd rather roll the Corpse of Hank Greenberg out there than trade anything for Belt or Moreland.

 

Would much rather take a flier on someone like Greg Bird than either of those guys. This would be the time to trade for Andujar but I can't imagine they have anything the Yankees would want in return.

I'm curious who is writing them and how they are talking about it, because in reality there is a massive difference between a team like the Tigers trading for Mitch Moreland and trading for Brandon Belt. Mainly, that Belt is owed more than $17M next season and the Giants would either have to pay about 75% (maybe more) or give up an asset in order to trade him.

In all honesty, this is a free season. We should have most of the top prospects playing with the team to get experience. This seems asinine to me.

Turnbull is the only SP worth a shit, and we have Mize rotting away in the minors. He’s gonna be 24 next year. Call his ass up.
