For sure his defense has cost him at least one and probably two innings tonight. And both runs don't happen without it
Another out not converted by our infield. Mize hasn't had his best stuff but they are really letting the kid down today behind him. And our announcers won't call them out
Lol, and now a guy tags from second to third on a routine fly ball to left. Stewart arm is a joke. He brings nothing to the table
There's just no way only scoring two runs with eight base runners in the first two innings will come back to bite us in the end tonight.
I hope it does. Keep losing. It’s only way to get better since Avila can’t acquire talent via trades or free agency,
I need Kumar Rocker to join that rotation with Mize, Manning, Skubal and Turnbull. Keep on losing baby
We're in game 28. With Turnbull leaving after 5.2, we are sitting at 2 quality starts so far this season. Turnbull has both of them. Today would have been his third if he got one more out.
Also bases loaded no outs, Reyes up and they shifting him with 3b playing behind bag and other three infielders on second base side of bag. Why doesn't he lay a bunt down the 3b line. I don't get why hitters don't do anything to combat the shift
With the bases loaded and no outs, I want that guy looking to do damage. Even if it's Victor Reyes and it's probably not going to happen.
Crazy to think Schoop is same age as Jacoby and Niko. Feels like he is older than that. I'd first try and trade him while he is hot, but I'm not sure anyone is giving up much. If no good offers I wouldn't mind extending him. Could at very least be another trade chip next years deadline
Hitters have had zero value over the last 3-4 years at the deadline. Especially guys on expiring deals (see Castellanos and JD for us). Schoop could probably help some teams, but recent history suggests teams just don't value guys like him. This offseason is going to be so weird coming off no fans and teams losing revenue that I'm not sure it makes sense to try to extend Schoop now. His class of player is likely to get destroyed this winter with teams trying to save money. Might as well wait until then and see if you can get a bargain if you want to keep him.
Garcia has been pretty good, too. That's been a nice surprise coming off his TJ surgery. He was a Jimenez-level prospect coming through the minors before that happened.
A lot of teams desperate for bullpen help. Not being able to get a decent return for a Farmer and/or Cisnero will be just another Avila failure
Cisnero has been legit good. I could see someone giving up a bit for him. I wouldn't give up much of anything for Farmer. He has 5 Ks in 9.1 innings.
I'd think Cisnero would be more sought after but national guys all think Farmer is their top chip. Looks like the lower K rate is on purpose. 15. Buck Farmer, RP, Tigers: Farmer has emerged as a steady relief presence in a shaky Detroit bullpen. He’s dropped his slider usage in favor of his changeup this year, with the result being far fewer strikeouts but considerably more grounders. Farmer is controlled cheaply through 2022 and induces gobs of weak contact. Jones has been listed a trade candidate as well. Can't imagine a team values him to the level of what he currently brings to the Tigers.
Schoop has 4 walks in over 100 at bats. There is a reason he’s bounced around the league so much, has minimal value, and signed with the Tigers last season.
Bro what side are you on? We need to lose. Only guys I want performing are Paredes, Mize, Skubal, Turnbull, and Norris.
Is a Fulmer a non tender candidate this off season? His stuff has been trash this season. If he’s pitching like this next season, he won’t even make the team. Hard to justify paying him $4 million, with all the cheap young pitching we have.
It's very weird to see a Tigers' box score with a bunch of relievers where they don't have ERAs over 5 yet
Cisnero has to be some value to a team. Maybe a top 15 prospect? I would keep Soto and Farmer (not like Farmer helped himself tonight).
They need to listen on all of them. If someone wants to give up something good for Soto, they should do it. We're not in a position to hold onto relievers at the deadline if someone is offering us something good.
The most disappointing thing about the Manning/Faedo news is it pretty much guarantees that we're going to see another start or two by Jordan Zimmermann before this is over. That was already probably going to happen, but we're not going to make it the rest of the way with the same guys healthy and Zimmermann is already throwing bullpens.
