I like seeing them compete. Twins will roll them 4/4 so don’t worry Vinegar Strokes
Lol Gardenhire acting like it’s the Tigers that made that decision.
Why are they playing day games today?
10am my time
Start the game bitches. Hasn’t rained in over an hour
Skubal pitching the opener
If they ever fucking play
No games again today
Just a little water in shallow RF. No big deal.
Who the fuk they gonna get for Maybin the Cubs 85th best prospect?
Some leftover baseballs Castellanos signed last September.
Reyes looks to be an everyday lead off OF the rest of the year
Goodrum has a positive war defensively this year so far. If he figures out the bat and continues to play good defense I’m not sure how the tigers don’t lock him up long term as everyday SS
Boyd with a good outing today. Very nice to see. B Garcia’s change up against Kepler was so filthy.
MG2's boy did pretty well today
I wonder if we can get Gaybar Torres for him now.
I was 100% on board with throwing in the towel on Jeimer in the first 7-10 days of the season. If he can continue this type of hitting the rest of the way and we can get any kind of consistency from one or two of the Paredes, Castro, Reyes, Niko group (and the young pitchers stay healthy), that's a successful 2020 season.
Hell yeah Skubal.
Next year’s rotation? Decent rotation. Obviously Mize and Skubal will have some growing pains, but good enough to compete. Ilitch needs to start spending some cash. Gardenhire won’t be back. Fire Avila. Start spending some money under new GM.
5. Some guy
Bro Avila and Gardy are going nowhere after this season but back in 2021. If anything this coaching staff seems to be putting strategy over gut. I can’t root for Detroit sports to lose anymore. Enjoy the winning.
Highly unlikely Gardy is back, as his contract is up. He’s a loser manager, and was only brought in to get us through this tough stretch. We will hire somebody else, to take us over the hump.
I'd guess between Wentz/Manning/Faedo one would be ready to at least make a shot at 5th rotation spot. Or have Norris there until one is ready
If we finish .500 this season (big if) you still let Gardy walk
Fulmer is going to be in that mix, but I'm expecting they add at least one vet who takes up a spot because that's what we've done to this point.
Avila isn't going anywhere. The kids he drafted are going to have to be busts next year before he gets fired, whether we like it or not. Not sure on Gardenhire. My guess is that will depend on how they finish the season. If they stay anywhere near competitive, I would guess he'll be back unless he wants to retire.
Victor Reyes is playing out of his mind
he lost 90+ games his last six season. He’s definitely not the answer for the future.
Royals traded Rosenthal to the Padres. That’s a bummer.
Why? Not like they got anybody good for him.
Today reminds me of a Tigers' moment from my youth when we were atrocious but were close to finally finishing a season at .500 for the first time in a decade. Todd Jones got a save and gave the "1 more" gesture because we were only one game under .500 in late September. Of course they didn't, and that streak went on until we made the WS in 06.
Only one game under .500 in late August, guys.
Speculation I saw was that it’s likely a good prospect. Didn’t the Tigers just have Rosenthal and cut him?
Lol. Yep they did. They got some. 24 year old CF for him. Actually looking at his stats, he’d probably be our best outfielder right now.
Hey, guys. Thanks.
Not sure if you’re being serious, but this is early May in a normal season.
The Nats cut Rosenthal first and won a WS later that year but that’s cool ignoring that fact
No one is ignoring that you dipshit? It’s just irrelevant to the discussion.
Can we end the Greiner experiment. If he’s going to hit .150, rather have Rogers up here.
Mize is walking and throwing wild pitches now
and hitting guys.
No control means no command - is he hurt again?
He's a rookie making his third start and going up against one of the better line-ups in the league. Don't think we need to jump to the injury conclusion yet.
He looks awful
Horrible showing. Matt Anderson 2.0
The next Kyle Sleeth
How is Stewart still getting playing time?
As I type this Mize hit his third batter already
Mize has struggled last two starts
Is that good?
He’s only throwing fastballs wtf
