What did he say? If it wasn't racist, it was probably directed towards a female employee. Nvm I can’t read.
damn that blows had such good stuff in college but arm issues limited him to like 60 innings at VU. Sucks he never got to reach his potential seems VU guys just do not work out for the Tigers
I have no idea what the Tiger's current price is for Fulmer but if they get offered anything in the ballpark he should absolutely be traded now. Every day, week, month, year that he is here in Detroit there is significant risk that the return becomes smaller. He's a 2/3 starter for a good not great team coming off elbow surgery. It's possible they have only gotten weak offers for him. And I certainly understand not fucking the first ugly girl that walks through the door but you don't want to end up jerking yourself off at the end of the night all by yourself.
There's zero rush to trade him. The only purpose in trading him is if you get a big haul in return. If you're not getting that, what's the point?
We've already claimed him to replace Mark Hollis. Need someone that has the balls to fire both Izzo and Dantonio
Speak for yourself sir. I am quite accomplished at jerking myself off at the end of the night all by myself.
I can think of quite a lot of risk and reasons why it makes sense to trade him now. I think a lot of things would need to go right to get more for him in the future than you can right now. The purpose in trading him is getting the appropriate haul in return. I hope they don't have an appropriate definition that is drastically different than the rest of the league.
There's risk in literally everything. There's risk that Candelario could get hurt tomorrow. Doesn't mean they should trade him for whatever the market is now. I don't think that many things need to go right. He's got 4 years of control after this. The same people who are going to say we're asking for too much on Fulmer were saying we asked too much on Verlander. People then said we weren't realistic and we should just dump his salary to whichever team would pay the most. He cleared waivers to start August. Then, 4 weeks later, we traded him for what are now 3 of our top 5-7 prospects, probably. A #2 starter making the league minimum with 4 years of cost-controlled salaries after this is extremely valuable. It doesn't make sense to trade that unless someone gives you something extremely valuable in return.
He needs to not get injured again and reverse his current trajectory of production. Candelario does not have substantial value in the trade market which could bring you back multiple prospects unlike Fulmer. I don't quite understand the comparison but I take your point. I have a suspicion Avila is asking for something he is never going to get (Gleyber Torres as an example). Close to the Verlander return is completely suitable. What's he worth to you?
I think he's worth something between those two. I don't think he brings back a top 10 prospect, but I wouldn't trade him unless I'm getting 2 top 50 prospects or 3 top 100ish guys.
The point still remains he is going to be almost as valuable next year with 3 years control and the subsequent year with 2. That's a lot of time before he gets pricey, and barring injury there's not any reason to think he can't find his ROY form. He hasn't been a disaster this year either, just getting pummeled the 3rd time through the order. Have to think there's a coaching way to improve that ... I don't mind Avila asking for Gleyber 3 weeks till the deadline. But if we could get Frazier and some mix of Sheffield/Chance Adams or their Loiasiga kid I think that would be enough. Still though I think we should take our time ...
Wasn’t there a stat that we had to go 8-82 to match 2003 or whatever just before this? Challenge accepted
What’s the longest losing streak in majors this year? #Kansas City Royals #New York Mets #Chicago White Sox
Kody Clemens is already 22, and he was a college junior? Get held back growing up? That puts him at 19 graduating high school in 2015.
It's not a losing streak but we have won 5 games this month and are gonna sign a child molester so I think we win the battle of shit.
It's weird that a college JR turned 22 in May. Seems like more and more college draft guys turn 22 in the summer (and HS kids turn 19 at the same time), but Clemens is a couple months older than that. Not sure what the reason was, as it doesn't appear that he redshirted at UT or anything.
