Emily and I interacted on Twitter regarding that list. She noted it wasn't a Top 10 prospect list but a Top 10 season list. As in Gerber did put together a great performance in 2017, but wouldn't necessarily be considered a Top 10 prospect in the org... Let's be easy on her ITT. I'm happy with my AthleticDET sub and the content they put out...
Good to know that she's capable of compiling a list after looking up stats on milb.com. Vinegar Strokes can do the same thing, and I'll do it for free.
Would need to see your face actually to determine of your odd-nose-to-mole ratio is as intriguing as Emily's...
We can do this. The difference between 3 and 4 in the first round might not be a big deal because evaluations in baseball tend to vary so much, but the difference in bonus pool allotted is significant. A few years ago, I think the #3 pick had roughly $1M more allotted for slot bonus than #4.
Why didn't we do defensive replacement? I know nobody was going to catch that one, but he should have been removed.
9 to go. We are pretty much locked in to the 4th pick (won't be worse), unless we win like 7 of 9. Still in running for 1st pick.
1 game back of CHW and PHI (currently tied for 2nd worst record). 2 back of SF with the worst record. We're playing the worst (by far) of all of them. If we somehow turn this tank into the 2nd pick, that's like picking up multiple prospects in the Upton/Verlander deals.
They do know how to tank, I'll give them that. I don't see how it equates to getting multiple prospects. We are just picking 4-5 spots higher, than we would have if we didn't trade anybody. At this point I see them losing all 6 to the Twins. Maybe they win a game against KC.

The difference in slot money between the #6 pick and the #2 pick is almost $2M. That kind of money can lead to being able to spend significant money on over slot guys who fall for signability reasons, unless they decided to pay their fist round pick the full slot bonus.
i would hope we go full slot with our first round pick. That would mean we are taking best talent available, and toughest sign.
A lot of teams have made it work the other way. Houston got McCullers in the 2nd round because it drafted Correa over Buxton and paid him under slot. That's generally not our kind of thing. If you're picking in the top 3, you can often sign a top 5 player for less than slot, and that guy could also be your preferred guy, anyway.
I have now wasted half my work day reading up on next year's draft, which is probably the best part of rebuilding. You start caring about the draft and prospect lists a lot more.
Don't think there's a consensus top guy at this point. Turang seems like the consensus top position guy at this stage, but it's still pretty early. UF RHP Brady Singer seems like the other guy people like most at this point. A couple GA RHPs are also in the mix at the top.
Also if we are going to have a new manager next season, I want it to be Ozzie Guillen. If we are going to suck I want us to turn into a circus.
