Feel bad for the people with tickets for tomorrow and Sunday. Gonna be stuck watching Kenta Maeda and some scrub from the white Sox
If we can clinch tonight, I think you have Maeda pitch one of remaining two games until his arm falls off and let Jobe start the other and go a couple and then let Madden finish it.
Agreed. Maeda probably starts tomorrow (goes 7 innings or so). Sunday use a combination of Jobe (max 2 innings), Mize, Montero, and Madden. Playoff Roation Game 1 - Skubal Game 2 - Olson (hopefully for 4 innings), bullpen Game 3 - All hands on deck. Holton / Jobe / Foley / Brieske
I think Maeda gets 5 innings on any day after we hopefully clinch. I'm curious what the plan for Jobe is in terms of whether they're going to try to use him in short relief or hope for more of a Hurter/Madden type of role.
Im curious if they have a preference between Astros or Orioles and how much that will factor in to what they do this weekend. It looks like they are almost certainly in the playoffs, but if they outperform the Royals this weekend, they get the Orioles instead of the Astros. That isn’t nothing.
If we can clinch tonight Saturday Maeda 6 innings, Hurter 3 innings Sunday Jobe one time through order (2-3 innings), Mize for 3 innings and Madden 3 innings Game 1 Skubal Game 2 Holton as opener and BP Game 3 Olson for one time through order and BP again
Personally don’t really like penciling in Holton as an opener for game 2 because I like having him as an option to bring in out of the pen and they probably wouldn’t do that in Game 1 or 3 if he is the opener in game 2.
I don't think we'll know who they would use as an opener until the day of if they go that route. That's generally how they have gone about it the last 2 months.
Pitching staff going to need to be great tonight. Hitters doing a terrible job, getting mowed down and not working counts so Crochet going to be in a long time tonight
I haven't been able to listen to the broadcast. Have they said he has no restrictions on count or innings tonight? He hasn't thrown more than 4 innings in a game since June 30, or more than 57 pitches in a game since August 9.
After he torpedoed his trade chances at the deadline, they've been extra careful with him. It would be really weird if they let him blow it out tonight after all that.
We must lead the league in unnecessary great catches because we don’t hear the guys call each other off
I can see how this team lost 120 games. I'm not sure which WC spot I want to be honest, but Atlanta is up on KC
I'm not saying he's good, but Tork's defense appears a lot better since he came back. Naked eye only, haven't looked at stats. Couple really good picks at 1B lately, more tough plays made, and less unbelievably bad gaffes.
Congrats boys. It’s been a great year. You stuck it out all year. Now let’s win it all. Team of destiny. smeegsgreen spartanchuck Lip DeToxRox DetroitNole 20/20/20/20 Duck Smoker Brocktoon RalfBully buckwild Celemo Tug FourClover01 Taylor who I can’t at. DetroitIrish3
Can you imagine what their record would have been if they had Javy, too? Just kidding. Congrats fuckers
This might have ended up being the most important play in MLB this entire season. At least in the conversation. Saved us from getting swept to start the month.
They’ve won 34 since. 34-16. Not bumping this in a “gotcha” way, nobody saw this coming. Just crazy where we were at at the deadline. Been fun.
