Skubal seemed to have a nice night. It would be nice if he could get through five innings every once and a while, but this is good progress.
Pretty good series for the pitchers. Seattle sucks, but nice to see it nonetheless. I'm not worried about Skubal pitching deep into games at this stage. Max Scherzer was like 27-28 before he was reliably pitching through 6. I feel similarly to Mize striking people out; that will come.
I’d take this then whatever the angels are. We have almost the same record and they have trout rendon and ohtani
They are basically the Lions, going to ruin having great players and doing nothing with them. Trout going to be wasted like Barry and Calvin
or having Verlander, Scherzer, Price, Porcello, and Sanchez as your pitching rotation and failing to win a World Series.
At least those tigers teams got to multiple WS (not defending them failing to win a WS)....but have the Angels even won a series with Trout?
All I want is for him to get 500 home runs this year and 3000 hits by the ASB next year and retire after 2022 with his '23 contract getting paid.
Only way that's happening is if by "retire" you mean we release him and no one picks him up. Everything in his history points to him hanging on for every possible at bat someone will give him before he hangs it up.

It is somewhat concerning that every highlight of Torkekson hitting the ball hard is on breaking balls (mostly hangers). From what I've read he's really struggled with average or better velo so far, which could mean a bunch of things but is not ideal.

He hit a single to the RF wall off 93 mph in his next AB so maybe he can settle in a bit going forward.
Struckout 11 times to 3 walks in first 5 games and 11 bb to 7 k in games since. Almost feels like he was adjusting to the strike zone early on on top of shaking off some rust
Ended up going 6.2 IP with 2 R, 7 H (most in the first 2 innings), 7 K and 1 BB. All things considered after his first three outings, a step in the right direction after a rough first time through the order.
I'm kind of glad we didn't. Adames' offense has regressed significantly the last 18 months where he's striking out 35% of the time and not hitting for a ton of power to make that profile work. Given the current problems on the roster in terms of swing and miss, I'm not sure we're the team best suited to fix his problems. And the metrics don't back up the eye test defensively to suggest he's elite there.
He's not in the line-up today because we're facing a LHP, but Baddoo has kind of stabilized a bit the last few weeks after the awful 3-4 week stretch when we started playing him too much. He hasn't hit for much power of late, but he's walking a ton and the Ks are down at least to the point where he's playable in the right match ups.
