I thought you loved her?
Lmao. Looks like it, I didn’t even notice
You might be thinking of me. I love a good cringe-worthy IG post ...
And notice things like her collar in that pic. I mean wtf, where does on acquire a blouse like that? And does she think it's a good look?
Lower the price tag cunts. He’s a two tool player.
Anyone know when they will announce new PBP guy? Up until yesterday, I thought they would give it to Shepard because they will suck dick and nobody will watch anyways. Maybe he declines now to be home with wife?
I thought it was a pookah shell necklace
This is a pretty good prospect list from a national perspective.
keep hatin on our girl Vinegar Strokes ... she's movin on up
Maybe she will be able to afford some new clothes now
Great list, in that a lot of guys in the teens would have been top 5 for us 18 months ago. That's a tough report on Faedo given where he was drafted.
Meh. He was the 18th Pick in draft. Look at guys drafted right after him, none of them are that good.
If we could do it over again, we should have drafted Drew Waters. Reports are we really liked him as a HS OF from Georgia, but there were a lot of questions about how he would hit. He was horrible in short season ball for Atlanta in 2017, but is now a top 100 guy after a really good 2018.
Is Mercer (1 year for 5.25M) better than Tim Beckham who just signed for 1.75M for 1 year?
Are Matt Moore and Tyson Ross better flyers than Shelby Miller (1 year for 2M)?
Are our AAAA OF better than Jon Jay - 1 year/4M?
Seems like we’re content to just suck. I would have preferred to sign a couple more of those low cost guys and see if they can start hot and trade them at the deadline.
Mercer > Beckham (probably)
Ross > Miller = Moore
Jay > AAAA OF (probably, although I think that's debatable)
You can make a pretty good argument they could have saved money there, but the players you're comparing here aren't any better.
Thanks. It might just be the fact that I’m more familiar with some names from fantasy baseball, which don’t take into account defense. I’ve always liked Jon Jay though.
Also, I would have thought Beckham is better or the same as Mercer. What do you think separates them?
Because he signed with the Tigers. If Beckham were a Tiger he’d be saying he was better than Mercer.
The Tigers overpaid for all those bums that they signed.
They're both bad, but Mercer is more likely to not be horrid than Beckham. He strikes out less, gets on base a little more, plays a little better defense and has a longer track record. Beckham had one year where he rode a scorching BABIP to respectability and has otherwise been awful.
Beckham is more talented than Mercer. He should be better than Mercer (at least offensively). He had one amazing month after getting traded to Baltimore in 2017, but outside of that Mercer has been as good (or bad, depending on how you look at it) or better. Mercer is a better defender.
I don't know that Jay is better than the guys we might have at the corners, but he would very likely be a clear upgrade offensively to whatever we put in CF.
If I knew Shelby Miller was healthy, I would prefer him to Ross and Moore. Miller has thrown 40 innings the last two years coming off TJ in 2016, though, so I have no clue what he is anymore.
What a dog shit organization
Whether or not that's true, this doesn't indicate that.
I'd take Rod and Mario back over that...
At least we have a minor league level crew to match the minor league level team on the field
Why dont we like Shep? I think he's pretty good on Michigan bball broadcasts ...
Lynn Henning is retiring before spring training.
Pretty astonishing these days that a print scribe actually makes it to retirement.
Came for the Vinegar Strokes melty about Gordon Beckham.
Tony Paul is a bitch.
Beckham > Lugo
Lugo is god awful
Also had a deal in place for Bernie Williams at the expansion draft following the 1996 season that NYY ownership killed.
I remember reading about that Halladay rumor back in 09 and thinking I would do that deal in a heartbeat.
I’m thinking the trade would have been in 2009? Holladay only had 2 decent seasons after that. Would he have made a difference?
At least we got CJ Nitkowski for Boomer
I think the rumor was during the 09 season (he got moved the following offseason), and calling his 2010 and 11 seasons "decent" is perfectly you. He was amazing in both those seasons.
National League dude. They made Sanchez look like an All Star this year.
Gerber was DFAd by the Giants. Would like to see us fix that mistake and dump someone else if possible. He's probably nothing more than an average 4th OF (at best), but he's worth a shot this year moreso than several position guys on the 40 man.
Saw his name go by in Twitter and wondered about that.
We're going to be really bad, but I would really like to see at least one more good Miggy year.
Which makes this even more awkward.
Also, if there was "no market" for Castellanos before, it's even worse now that ATL and LAD signed Markakis and Pollock. The Rays also added Avisail Garcia, which takes them out.
Claimed Kaleb Cowart off waivers to make our 40 man roster at 40
We have cornered the market on utility infielders who can't hit. It's the new market inefficiency.
Cowart was supposedly going to be a 2-way guy before he was released by Seattle. Not sure if the Tigers will try him like that, but that level of creativity isn't really our thing.
You mean like pitch and hit?
Castellanos sucks. Of course there is no market for a DH only guy.
Kaleb Cowart > Dawel Lugo
Great. I assume he's shitty at both.
