No one but the Freep really ever cared, but if you're going to make a stink like they did about it, you can't just bury it when you get the reason why it happened.
Based entirely on what I read in here it seems Fenech shouldn’t have a job. Am I missing something because I don’t follow Detroit media?
Sounds like a He’s cheap. I don’t think they care. Nobody reads the newspaper any more. He’s making like $45k a year.
Alright smeegsgreen . A 3-7 road trip is not what we had hoped for, but I will take it. Looks like we are. 2.5 games up on the Orioles now.
Doesn't seem like Gardenhire is going to retire, although the way he's hinting he seems to think it's up in the air about whether he gets fired or not. I don't think he's an egregiously bad in-game manager at this point, but we would be better off with a far younger, more open minded guy setting the tone for everyone in the organization.
I posted this tweet in the MLB thread, but I'm all the way out on Castellanos. Someone else can have that moron.
Verlander threw a no hitter today. Franklin Perez has thrown like 20 innings the past 2 years. Daz Cameron is hitting .214 in AAA. Jake Rogers is hitting .115 in the majors.
Before that, the whole "we don't believe in analytics" thing was cute because it was still working well enough. Then we traded Suarez and a recent 1st round pick for a fat fuck of a starting pitcher with an involuntary manslaughter charge and a rape accusation under his belt because he won 15 games and had a lucky ERA in 2014.
He fell while Skateboarding. For a few minutes they thought he might have gotten hit by a car but Erie Insurance quickly checked their security cameras and saw that he fell on his own. UPMC Hamot is two blocks from where it happened. From the time he fell to when someone saw him to being in the ER was less than 10 minutes. "Surveillance video from an insurance business nearby showed Numata riding alone down East 4th Street when his skateboard suddenly stopped, as if it hit a rock, and he fell forward, Erie police Sgt. David Stucke said on Monday." Source: https://www.freep.com/story/sports/...eaguer-chace-numata-dies-hospital/2192060001/
I think Rogers leads the team in past balls. I thought he was supposed to be good defensively? He’s also below average in pitch framing too.
doesn't this draft have the next Bryce Harper or is that just hype because the kid hits the ball mile as a teenager?
That guy might not even be a top 20 picks, if we're thinking of the same person. At this point, this is considered a very good college draft with a potential 1.1 RHP and at least a couple position guys. There are a bunch of HS kids in the top 10-15 range, too, but I don't think that group has sorted itself out yet (and it usually doesn't at this point because that ranking is much more volatile).
Blaze Jordan. Just remember seeing a bunch of articles over the summer saying it was him, the pitcher from Georgia and the 1B from ASU as the front runners right now.
Fluke win. I was shocked reading that we won from you post. I watched 3 innings and thought it was going to be a 11-0 game. Still up 3.5 on the O’s
Jordan is basically a prep 1B. He's a 1st rounder and is interesting because he's going to be the youngest player in the class (17.5), but he doesn't have the profile of someone who goes top 5 out of HS. My guess right now would be the top 4 candidates to go 1.1 are Austin Martin (Vandy SS), Emerson Hankcock (UGA RHP), Austin Hendrick (prep OF) and Pete Crow-Armstrong (prep OF). I just don't see them taking a 1B with the 1.1 pick, nor do I see them breaking from history and being the org that takes a HS RHP with that pick.
