Talked a little about Labourt and Stewart. This is probably more important than both, and he's doing it in High A ball as a 20 year old. If he can hold this for a full season, he's a legit top 40 prospect and could be up by the the end of 2018.
Maybe we could get a declining vet with a huge contract. Or a peaked reliever who will suck next year.
I have no clue who or what the hell a Jim Adduci is, but his production to this point is appreciated.
We have 14 losses. Our closer has 3 of them. 6.85 ERA with 17 H allowed in 11.1 innings. But let's keep pretending it's going to get better.
Imagine wanting to win a game in the 9th and stepping into the box and seeing a closer try and pump 78 mph hangers over the plate.
A few nights ago Rod Allen was getting all fired up over KRod's fastball hitting 90. Things are looking up!
JD is joining Toledo tomorrow. Ausmus says he could be back with us in Anaheim next weekend. With Kinsler supposedly coming back early next week from whatever his current ailment is, we'll hopefully be full strength by mid-May in terms of health. The 6-8 weeks after that will decide how many of them are here at the end.
KRod is back out for the 9th. Seems like Ausmus is either trying to get fired or get KRod released as soon as possible. At this rate, both might be in play.
This team sucks. Just dump everyone. I can't fucking keep watching 3.5 hour marathons just to see if that bitch can hold the lead we've had for 2 hours.
I don't take any pleasure it watching a guy's career fall apart, but fuck Avila for building a roster with him as the closer. Fuck Ausmus for putting him in. And fuck him for sucking.
I mean... honestly. This is another 4 hour game I've been following all day. We have a lead. I'm invested. And this. Again. This is ridiculous.
I would love for this team to go like 2-8 over the next 10. Let the pressure go away so Kinsler and JD can audition for their next teams.
As horrible as it is to watch, losing a bunch of games like this is probably the best thing that can happen from a trade value standpoint if we turn out to be sellers. Losing a bunch of games without the vets producing or the young arms pitching well doesn't really do anything for us on any level.
I just got an email yesterday from MLB offering me mlb.tv for $50 for the rest of the season. Probably going to pass on that one.
When they announced Ausmus was coming back I said I wasn't going to buy it. If I don't hook my kids on baseball early, they'll end up playing lacrosse like their faggot friends. The five year old watches about 4-5 innings per game, so its worth it. Next year we'll probably just watch the NFL Network all day.
As Vinegar Strokes said, he had TJ surgery in August. The hope is he'll be able to get back sometime early in the summer, even if that's just as a DH. Don't think it's over for him by any stretch. He just hasn't been able to stay healthy.
When was the last time the Tigers had a high leverage save situation and closed it out striking out the side? JWilly was pumpin that chedd tonight
I love awesome Justin Upton. I hate league average hitter Miguel Cabrera. I'm getting concerned about that one.
Too bad Greene gave up the Trout HR, too. He's been great lately. Gotten us out of several big jams in recent weeks and can hopefully find a role in the late innings if he can avoid the HRs.
JD also provided my favorite Tigers moment in at least 3 years last year when he came back. Saw this tweet yesterday.
Verlander walked 57 last year. He's on pace to walk 113 this year. He's still been okay and I'm not as worried as I am with Cabrera, but that's not great.
