Hello friends. New to the Diablo world and got sucked into the Server Slam release by a friend. Went back and played III 's story line just to get a better feel for the game. Probably just going Barbarian whirlwind build to start like a true button mashing savant.
Look up The Book of Lorath on YouTube of you want a quick intro to the story behind the games. 4 10 minute parts that blizzard put out
Just had baby #3 7 days ago so unfortunately all night gaming session is off the books. Hopefully I’ll get to play sparingly and finish the story before being spoiled haha. Will maybe try to run it back all out for season 1.
Will be mailing Druid via Pulverize and then see if wind/tornado is a good endgame option. Gonna depend on gear. I think and hope that damage reduction/survival will play a larger role in D4 than D3 which was largely poorly optimized for years before they kind of figured it out. It is exciting knowing there are already 2 expansions on the books so they’re going to eventually tune it well and make it their flagship non MMO IP.
Not sure if this is the same team that worked on diablo 3, but they really did a pretty good job recovering that game from the real money auction house disaster. After the expansion it was pretty fun for a long time. Even diablo 2 really needed the expansion to get into a better place. Seems like with all the end game activities and seasons hopefully they can fix what needs to be fixed in D4 without waiting for the first expansion
My favorite streamer DatModz on twitch will be a great resource for anyone wanting to watch and follow. He’s one of us and the antithesis of toxic. He also looks like a Druid.
Had a fair amount of what I assume is lag over the last 30 minutes with my frame rate seemingly going to 0 then my character jumping ahead.
Made it to level 19 and stopping for the night. Game feels great. Mostly runs great. The servers had some lag for me but overall I’m impressed with their performance tonight. I guess we’ll see next week when the flood of regular edition folks show up.
today may be different but i haven't had a single hiccup, lag, etc. honestly very impressed given error 37 days and the general failure of most online only games when they launch. i suppose tuesday will be the next big test (monday 7 pm?) but i feel like they've got this now.
I'm absolutely shocked at how well it ran yesterday. Blizzard games are usually unplayable at launch so this is a huge huge improvement. Especially after the first beta test bad big issues
Blizzard knew if they messed this up they would be in a lot of trouble and would lose what little good faith they had left
Finished yesterday at lvl 22 and got all the Lilith Altars in fractured peaks. I'm probably gonna finish the campaign at a slower pace and go for all altars in each region as I do the story.
Ran like a dream, really enjoying it so far. Even though I hadn't looked up any skill builds, so I'm probably building my Sorc like an idiot
Can’t wait to finish up act 1 today, get my mount and put on that ashava horn to stunt on all the losers who didn’t beat ashava during the server slam
whispering key, worth it right now vs. other gear purchases with oblons? i don't wanna hit the cap and not sure what best use will be while leveling.
Just finished act 1. Almost zero gameplay issues so far. Really enjoying the look and feel of the game.
If you get a gear enabling legendary aspect put it on your neck instead of your weapon. You’re going to replace the weapon and you still get the nice 1.5x on the necklace. Had a buddy put it on a weapon and then 5 minutes later needed to replace it. Was lost. He has had his neck for a long time.
I bought a key. Buying gear/armor gives a chance for a legendary, but idk what the turnover rate is, as far as how often those items get changed out. I'm only level 15, so I'm constantly changing out my armor. Did find a nice wand I've used for awhile.
Eventually you’re going to spam obols for legendary gear. It’s not that big of a deal while leveling.
Do we have any real idea what the gold economy will be in the game? Like how much should we be shooting to collect for endgame stuff? I doubt I’ll ever spend any at a vendor, but updated and repecs will definitely be the table.
gold is essentially useless its still a strain in the leveling and the powering up period of gearing but once you reach end game its pretty much an infinite resource by that point.
Act 2 boss comment Spoiler I dunno if it was a glitch or the design but the boss was more interested in destroying the town and killing the villagers than killing me. Was a pretty easy fight. Cool looking boss tho
If you want a specific codex power, you can just click the codex and it'll autopin the dungeon you need to do
Yup I did figure that one out too. I haven't done any dungeons yet, trying to blast through the story first
I’m still in act 1 and have spent my last few play sessions respeccing and trying new play styles. I know I need to move on and finish the campaign, but that’s just so much to do. Good game is good. If I remember the beta correctly I’m just about done with the first act, then I want to power through to get the mount next.
