my 4 year old is going, it's going to wreck her life watching her dad weep.
she needs to see the OG first.
We have watched it at least 10 times. I collect Disney Bluray from when I was a kid and the older stuff so she has it in the future.
my bad. read your post wrong.
Aladdin on Broadway was pretty good too
They already are
When we went to New York, we saw the Book of Mormon the night before, told myself ‘that’s pretty damn funny, almost as good as Avenue Q. Going to be tough to beat it Simba.’
It did. Honestly can say it’s my favorite live action entertainment I’ve seen. And I used to go to a ton of concerts.
first movie I remember seeing in theaters at 9yo. may have been my first one... saturday morning with dad and older brother. definitely going to see it solo
I saw toy story 3 solo. The entire theater was either parents or 5 year olds and then me. Did not give a single fuck though
Book of Mormon and Avenue Q are on my list, somehow have not seen either. You have good taste.
Imagine whitewashing the cast of Aladdin!
Today I learned that is the voice of Aladdin.
Only if he grows an Albert Einstein/Samuel Clemons style mustache.
Oh fuck yes!
Take my money.
That looks awesome. Seems to be pretty close to a true remake.
I can't wait to actually hear the voices.
Favorite Disney movie. Cannot wait.
I’m so happy JEJ is still alive for this.
My only con from anything I’ve seen so far is that Scar’s voice is lacking in the scary department.
Don’t see why they couldn’t have brought Jeremy irons back if we are bringing back JEJ
I feel like this movie could only be improved by just dubbing in the original voices. They seem to be using 90% of the original script, anyway. It's weird not hearing Jeremy Irons voice Scar.
Actually, come to think of it I have no doubt there will be a You Tube edit that does exactly that.
This movie is going to murder the box office. It'll be a horse race with Endgame for two trillion dollars.
Here I am, sitting at my desk on a Wednesday morning getting dusty
Buy your disney stock now.
My Dad must not love me
Join the club
Buy it in 2003
Have you been a twelve year old Israelite this whole time?
Is scar Ned stark?
I see it as growth that pearl mentioned his dad and no one made any of the standard race jokes.
Jeremy Irons was perfect as Scar but I'll give Ejiofor the benefit of the doubt until I can see it
for sure, sean bean wouldve been a nice pick as well. Would also like to go a completely different way and use the guy from archer/the arbies commercials, that wouldve worked for me as well
Scar is sinister, you don't want a baritone deadpan.
They really should have gone for Mahershala Ali for that part. It would've been perfect.
Scar has a serious case of mange going on
Seeing Puumba as a regular warthog is weird tho
I'm laughing at the idea of the voice of Archer screaming "Nala!" the way he would "Lana!"
*Simba unwittingly runs down into canyon*
*Camera pans to Scar, watching from a ledge above*
"Simba...you just stepped into... the daaaaaaaaanger zone"
Have replayed that short Timon and Pumba clip at least 5 times
Smile every time
And I bet Ejiofor will do a better job with the songs
They better do “Be Prepared”
The song was not originally going to be in the movie apparently because they've changed Scar's backstory a bit and they didn't think it would fit.
Now I'm seeing rumors that they added it back in, so who knows.
Pshh, 2B has been done by Avatar, Titanic, The Force Awakens, and Infinity Ward. This shit is topping 3B.
This remains true. Scar is my only reservation. Not as threatening/sinister as Jeremy Irons.
I agree. The voice didn’t sound “scary” for lack of a better term.
I didn't realize that's the guy who played T'Chaka
