I knew it didn’t have real food options, but the prospect of standing is what killed it. My kids are too young and we have my MIL with us, plus my wife was in no mood to even consider standing.

I really wanted to try it, but I had to remind myself that this trip is about what my kids and my wife want to do. I’m just here to help pay, push a giant stroller and carry a bunch of stuff around.

you are a smart man. However, for next time remember that asking to wait for the next table is always an option. Disney isn't going to make you stand with a bunch of small kids. They will make it work.

CF3234 , in your experience at Ohana are they reasonable with numbers? I had to change the reservation size three times because of how people added themselves to this trip. If went from four, to six, to eight, to eleven, and finally 12. I stalled out at an eight and three person reservation at 7:30 and 7:35 respectively. Like if I go up and just ask for one more, are they likely to accommodate?

Yea, you will be fine. any party of 3 is going to be sat at a table that seats 4 anyway. They may even be able to combine your groups when you arrive and put you at one long table. I've shown up with a whole extra 4 people and they told me no problem.

While we are on Ohana, need some info on Trader Sam’s as well.

I have 7:45pm reservation at Ohana next Friday night. How difficult/easy will it be for me to roll right into Trader Sam’s at about 9:00-9:30 on a Friday night? Either going to be just me or me and my wife.

You are looking at an hour long wait at minimum even during slow periods. It's the most popular bar in Disney. Your best bet is to have whoever finishes desert first go down and put your name down so that you can already start waiting while you pay. Then again, that is firework time at MK, so you want to be holding on to your table to watch the fireworks. Either way, send someone down to put your name down before you finish at Ohana.

Random favor — to anyone who will be there soon, would you be up for grabbing me a couple park-only magicbands and shopping them up here? I’ll send e-payment, a shipping label, and cash for your trouble. Looking to grab the 1971 band and maybe a nicer one for my wife.

On a related topic, my mom has an AP for this trip. Doing the math, it worked out to save enough to make it worth it. Discounts on After Hours, a couple tours she’s doing with my stepdad, and the merch/food benefits — she was sold.

That said, what other perks should she be aware of? Like I know they have pins at Epcot during the festivals, but what other little shit or little-known perks are there?

Going to WDW at the end of April and I'm planning on proposing to my GF. I'd prefer to do something private and won't be doing a proposal inside any of the parks. We are staying at The Swan (points) and she wanted to do Homecomin for an early dinner when we get there. Ideally I would like to propose after dinner and before we go to MK the next morning. Are there any good places at Disney Springs, Boardwalk, or around one of the hotels where I could propose? I even thought about just doing it on a skyliner trip, but I'm not sure if we could get one with just the two of us.

    Current plan is:
    Thursday- Homecomin for dinner/check-in
    Friday- MK- Ohana
    Saturday- AK- Tusker
Sunday- Leave for Port Canaveral on a cruise.

I already bought a photo package so that we can take a bunch of pictures around the park, but I just know she would murder me if I did it in public by the castle, TOL, Pandora, etc.

    Any recommendations are appreciated.

There are some nice pathways/bridges around Swan headed to epcot that can be relatively empty at the right times.

If you walk into epcot early in the morning before world showcase opens there are some pretty nice empty areas back in France.

It’s Disney so finding anything completely private is not likely

you wont find anywhere at springs that is relatively private

you *should* be able to find some private areas relatively easy at most of the bigger resorts but that becomes more of a do you want it be in an area that you are both seeing something that is disney related (like on the actual boardwalk) or are you fine being in the gardens area of beach/yacht club?

This. Privacy in Disney is pretty hard to accomplish unless you get really creative or shell out the cash for a private experience.

If you set it up ahead of time by talking with someone working the skyliner you might be able to get a skyliner to yourselves. Maybe.

Thanks for the help. Yea I certainly understand outside of your room nothing is completely private. We originally had Toledo scheduled for dinner and I planned on doing it at the rooftop there, but she's been watching a bunch Disney Food Blog and The Tim Tracker on Youtube and wanted to do Homecomin instead. She thinks all of this is for my 30th birthday so she isn't suspecting anything. Plus we've done either disneyworld or disneyland every year we've been together so it's just "another trip".

My other thought is rope drop at MK Friday morning and doing it in front of Little Mermaid since that's her favorite movie, but I'm not high on that idea right now.

The beach in front of Polynesian is a nice spot. We've watched the fireworks from there. Lots of walk ways and some private paths. Well there was before they remodeled. You could get dinner there or even just a Dole Whip as an excuse and then watch the fireworks from the beach. Find the right spot and ask in the middle of them. Everybody else will be watching the sky.

Going to play it by ear and see what we end up doing that night. Could be skyliner if I can get a solo gondola, or maybe one of these walk ways around the resort. The bridge between Swan and Boardwalk doesn't look too bad. We have EMH both days so I could also do it early Friday morning on a ride. I just wanted to have it done before we started the couple days at the park.

The light house where the boats pick you up at yacht/beach club could work. Assuming it isn't early morning when people are there waiting for the boats. otherwise, it is fairly empty most times.

EDIT FOR: you can see it on the bottom right of that picture.

CMs love to assist with proposals. Figure out what you want to do, write it on an index card or something that fits easily in your pocket and slip it to a CM and they will make it happen for you.

Just watched some youtube videos and I think I'll roll with this idea. After dinner we can get back to the hotel, walk over to Epcot and take a Gondola from Epcot to Caribbean Beach. It looks like the longest route so that should be enough time to knock it out. Thanks CF
