I do it with my good buddy aerofroz, it’s enjoyable for the most part. Can be sometimes painful depending who is on the bottom
Honestly the older I get the more I think about it. It looks stupid but is supposed to help relieve some stress and helps you keep your body flexible which is key when getting older. Plus I am a goalie so it would be great for me
Yoga and meditation are awesome. Only hardos make fun of them. I have a peloton which also has yoga and meditation workouts.
My cousin used to be a regular on cirque du soleil. She gives air yoga lessons now....it’s ridiculous how in shape she is.
No. I was not being serious. Although I wouldnt be completely shocked if people did yoga on bikes. They do yoga w baby goats. Nothing would surprise me tbh
I do a couple poses along with “normal” stretches when I stretch. Once in a blue moon I’ll do an online video with Lady Pokes. Feels great especially the spinal decompression stuff. Also really like stretching my back in the water.
FWIW they have an app that you can use on your IPad or phone for strength, stretching, yoga meditation, thread mill and out door runs. It really cool.
Oh got it. No, she is a good looking girl but she is fucking ripped. Obvioulsy her being my cousin is already making me not even considering it but she is definitely not my style anyway
Just did a 30 minute restoration yoga class. Really concentrates of rejuvenation but does work hips and lower back. Can’t recommend them enough. Really feel relaxed afterwards.
Yin/restorative yoga is the tits. Love it a day or two after a great workout, awesome way to work out that lactic acid.
He is a hardo who thinks “men” are supposed to be a certain way. Fuck that when I am 70 I’ll be able to move and not be in constant pain. Poor me.
no worries I think everyone should do more yoga, if only for the physical benefits. The mindful/spiritual part isn't for everyone; but it's virtually always a net-positive.
Following a losing team is actually very helpful in your practice. Helps keep it all in perspective. Take it from me
Been doing yoga once a week at home with my girl Yoga with Adrienne, but went to my first warm vinyasa class last night. Good lord it kicked my ass.
Just got a yoga mat off Amazon. Going to start with the YouTube vids someone recommend in the quarantine workout thread. Hoping it'll help with the anxiety coursing through my body from our current hellscape world and maybe improve my flexibility a bit. Pretty excited tbh.
Parmarth Niketan, an ashram in Rishikesh, India, hosts the International Yoga Festival every year. I went in 2017 and it was amazing. With everybody quarantining, they are offering free yoga classes online: https://www.youtube.com/user/parmarthniketan or https://www.facebook.com/internationalyogafestival They are more focused on intro classes, accessible to most anyone. Would highly recommend. I just finished this one:
I stand by my comment of it being one of the hardest workouts Ive done. Im not a very spiritual person. I cant get into the meditative aspect of it. I enjoyed it because it was challenging and hard. I hated the teachers that would evangelicalze it. It was culty for some. I just liked the work out. That said, I have gone in probably over two years. And now all that stuff has come out about him, I probably wouldnt go back. I know the studio I went to was connected to some of the gross stuff. It's a shame because Im sure there's a lot of people like myself that enjoyed the challenge of the workout, but cant in good consciousness go back and support it. It was my winter time workout. The last couple years Ive been playing basketball much much more. My inside out crossover is deadly and the J is wet. So its a win-win for me!
All I hear is "damn Mickey you were right, vinyasa is yoga and bikram is creeping" and that's ok. KOBE Spoiler RIP
Fun fact - I can never find this thread, so just go to Google and type in "dipshits do yoga" and this is the first result
Been Yoga with Adrienne’ing for a week now at the suggestion of my now closed breakfast restaurant waitress. Such a good workout to do. Doesn’t leave you exhausted (yet), yet you feel tour whole body working, and 30mins a day’s already done wonders for the neck and upper back. Nice change of pace from the classic home workout too.
So just finished my last weekend of teacher training. I am now a certified yoga instructor. a TMB first?
Any other online yoga recommendations? I’ve been doing yoga with Adriene every work day for just over a year now (the one cool thing I’ve gained from the pandemic) but want to see what else is out there. Adriene is literally all I’ve ever known yoga wise so time to branch out and potentially challenge myself more.
Teaching an arm balance & inversion workshop at my studio on Sat, March 26. You dipshits should come to Seattle and support me.
Going to give the Adrienne ones a shot. I’ve gotten better about doing some yoga on the days I don’t lift but there’s only a couple of DDP videos on YouTube I can do.
Had 15 people in class tonight - the max our studio allows and the most I've ever had. I'm the only male teacher at the studio, and the only class that's "intermediate to advanced vinyasa." Try to include an inversion and 2-3 arm balances each class. Enjoying teaching more than I ever have. Recently started teaching twice/week, thinking about increasing to 3x/week if I can find time in my schedule. Had 3 students ask for my playlist after class because I play that good shit
