What’s the thread’s consensus on TGUK’s Four Minute Mile vs. Something to Write Home About? I totaled my first car with “Coming Clean” blaring. Can’t listen to it still without thinking about the wreck.
Something to Write Home About for me, probably because of James Dewees's influence. That album and Millencolin's Pennybridge Pioneers were pretty much the soundtracks of my h.s. senior year.
Pennybridge Pioneers is what got me into punk music and then that kind of just dovetailed into everything else I like these days. So I could very easily say Pennybridge Pioneers is the most influential album in my life.
If anyone in the thread knows this band I will be surprised. They had this one album on Initial Records. From Detroit. It’s incredible.
I did. Wasn’t sure if this one or the 90’s thread I’ve been posting is was correct. It’s technically 99
Chevelle is actually one of the chud sounding bands I respect based on both beliefs and talent. I still kinda enjoy them to this day.
More pop punk than emo but I know you bros will agree that Millencolin’s Pennybridge Pioneers still fucking rips.
I saw Anberlin play an acoustic show in 2013 in Lawrence... Got to stand right next to the stage in a tiny (<1000 people) venue. It is still one of the best shows I've seen. Edit: this is from that same tour, setlist is pretty similar too:
That album has had the single biggest impact on my life than any other album in history. It's what got me into punk stuff which led me down the path of emo, ska, metal, post rock, etc.
The boys in Hot Mulligan put out another fire album last week. Tades’ vocals have never sounded better. Dude absolutely rips. Probably my favorite track from the album but it’s good start to finish:
Post-hardcore it up a bit, but saw Finch play 20 year (goddamit) anniversary of What It Is To Burn last night. Nate’s voice is still incredible.
Caught the Yellowcard 20th anniversary of Ocean Avenue tour last night. Being from Jax, it was a hometown show for the boys, and they killed it. Sounded as good as ever. Couple thoughts on the openers: As a big fan of This Wild Life, I was disappointed that their set was literally three songs. That’s what happens with four bands on the bill though. Story of the Year is ancient, even for bands of this generation. “Until the Day I Die” still rips. Worst part was that I misread the promo and for months I thought it was going to be The Story So Far. Disappointing. Mayday Parade absolutely slayed. Banger after banger. As expected, “Jamie All Over” brought the house down. 10/10. Emo Night Brooklyn emceed between the sets and was super embarrassing. So lame.

I’m at a Sylvan Esso show right now and I don’t know what he fuck is going on. What is this? I feel like an entire evening of this is going to make me vote for Trump.
