Ohio Is For Lovers is still easily one of the best hooks from that era. Put that song on a TouchTunes bar w/ a bunch of other Millenials and you won’t be able to hear JT sing.
I put the song there because it belongs there. The Lacey allegations are a lot more nuanced than they are on the surface, IMO.
This is a sneaky good pick. I mean, who didn’t put this on a mix cd for the girl they liked in high school.
This is because I can spell confusion with a K and I can like it It's to dying in another's arms and why I had to try it It's to Jimmy Eat World and those nights in my car When the first star you see may not be a star "I'm not your star" Isn't that what you said? What you thought this song meant? :swoon:
Lots of great songs listed, but I went black parade for the anthem because it's the biggest song from probably the biggest band from that era of the genre.
Also, despite the Lacey allegations, Brand New will always be my favorite band and The Devil and God will always be my favorite album. Can't help it. Separating the art from the artist or something.
It’s been a while and my memory is fuzzy, and probably not worth the discussion anyway, but didn’t the main Lacey accuser recant her claim?
I really don't remember. All I recall is the allegations coming out, them cancelling the rest of the tour they were on, and pretty much completely disappearing ever since.
Let’s name some bands that broke up too early and are likely more popular now than they ever were or would have been had they stayed together. I’ll start. Marietta fucking rules. A few times a week, I get sad that they haven’t made new music in like a decade.
I'd got if there was a show close. Bummed there isn't. Also, the line-up (that's been released so far) doesn't really feel like I think it should. Doesn't really feel "punk" at all
Yeah I’m an hour away from Orlando, so it was a no brainer to go. Yeah curious how the rest of the lineup shakes out
Maybe it changed post like 2005 and in their final years got a little more emo/genre but I always looked at warped tour as a heavy fat wreck/epitaph set list. I only see Pennywise? Maybe all those bands are retired liked NOFX.
Yeah but I thought this was supposed to be a reunion of sorts kinda like the emo fest in Vegas, never get old or whatever it is
Wouldn’t really consider them emo anymore, but they started out that way. First shows since 2017 (for obvious reasons). Degausser
Living in flyover country sucks Driving to Denver is tempting... getting tickets may be the hard part. Registered anyway
I saw Pedro the Lion twenty years ago, and met David Bazan afterwards, one of the weirder dudes I’ve ever talked to.
IDK why Atlanta doesn't hold and festivals for Punk/Emo/Hardcore. The Wrecking Ball fest before Masquerade got gentrified was great. The late night 2am shows were awesome and it was well attended. Hate seeing all these fest and can't go to em
Damn, LA presale tickets sold out for two shows at a 10k cap venue before I got through the wait line within 10 mins for Brand New
Getting tix for a small tour stop like St. Augustine was a nightmare, so I can’t imagine what it was like for LA.
Ah man, I like it a lot. Love Knuckle Puck too, and “Who’s Laughing Now” with them is my favorite song on the Mayday EP.
New The Wonder Years album is mostly an acoustic cover album of their old songs with guest vocals on tracks, highly recommend because they just rip
